We did it we made it to 1000 subscribers!!!!! thank you so much for the support ! For this special occasion I attempted to make a kill test video but failed miserably loll. I record and edited it anyway for your entertainment because that’s what real life is. nice work dude, I put a mountain bike front fork on the razor 500 the goal is to have the most range with considerate amount of power to be fun which motor kit and what battery do you recommend my target I wish to reach is to get a 35 milesh range

I might be wrong but is this how to calculate range = Battery Nominal Voltage x Battery Capacity (Amp-Hours) / 20 Watt-Hours/Mile. so a ,(48V, 20AH Battery) on a (Electric Brushless DC Motor Complete Kit, 48V 2000W) 48x20/20= 48miles on 20miles/hour I’m no electrician but is this right

@@awabahnish9514 Hey Awab, were did you get the 20 Watt-Hours/Mile? Otherwise, yes that would give you a rough idea. Things like terrain, operator, vehicle design, etc. will effect that estimate though. It really varies based on your amperage draw. If you know your amperage draw per hour (or minute or second) and your average velocity, you could replace your 20 watt-hours/mile and get a better estimate by multiplying the amperage draw per hour by the system voltage and dividing that number by you average velocity.

hey @@nvale55, I got the 20 watt-hour/mile when I searched “how to calculate range on an E-Bike” I thought the motors on the E-bikes are the same as the DIY kits, Guess not! do you have any recommendations on which motor kit to use and which battery for longer ranges.

@@awabahnish9514 Gotcha, the 20 watt-hour/mile could be one of those rule of thumb numbers to get a rough idea. Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell you a combo that would get you to 35 miles because things like vehicle design + weight would factor into choosing the systems. The way I see it, you could go the analytical way where you crunch the numbers and figure out what power requirements you need, or you could do the empirical way (aka @Krisuno way) were you just get the largest system you could afford/fit onto your project, then add batteries until you get your 35 mile distance. Personally I prefer the analytical way, to get a rough idea of what I need then after the first build, adjust the design as needed. If you don't want to do the initial number crunching, you could just find someone else's system which works, and tweak the design until it works for you. Unfortunately, this go-cart stuff isn't my main thing, drones are, but the principles are the same for the most part, just less math for these ground vehicles.

@@nvale55 Awesome info very well appreciated , I agree analytical is the way! but just from a logical point I have noticed that large batteries like the 2 used on krisuno’s razor, the 80 v battery just comes in 5AH maximum so here is my final resolution instead of 2 80V 5AH batteries connected in parallel on the 3000w motor, I would like to connect 8, 12.6V, 20AH batteries, connect 4 together =50.4V + 50.4V, then connect the 2 sets in parralel that would give me around 53V, 20AH battery pack if I’m correct, and instead of a 3000 w motor kit maybe like a 1800w or 2000w or even a 1000w I’m guessing the lower the motor the less power it needs, could that be an option to try???

you should try to make a quad motor go kart, or maybe some offroading thing with 4 motors, one for each wheel. a mini rock climber maybe?

Have you considered a simple electrical circuit modification to throw current through the motor in reverse to help braking? "Regenerative braking" is a big way Telsa's slow down and even completely stop now - it extends the life of brakes by hundreds of thousands of miles. No, really. Thought it might be something interesting to look at - I realize it won't be "regenerative" but it sure could slow you down quickly, potentially based on how hard you pull the brake lever.

So this motor and controller set up does have regenerative braking I just never hooked it up. It is something I will be hooking up when I take the motor and controller off the go cart and put it on the gas pit bike! The only reason I never hooked it up on the go cart was because I was planning on changing the brake system to hydraulic and running a pressure switch off of the master cylinder but now that I’m gonna build a electric pit bike the rear brake already has the set up for it so it should be pretty easy!

The weather it’s not helping either. I’m gonna get back to the kill test a little later on but this is definitely not the last time you’ll see the go cart.... it will be back!

Hey dude cool videos. I also have built modified electric razor dirtbikes, and Razor fine buggies. I have a sx500 with 1000w setup and another sx500 on 4800w,. I also have a razor dune buggy on 1850w and another razor dune buggy on 7500w. I ride them with my family multiple times a week. Anyways I think we could help each other with builds since from what I've watched of your videos your doing exactly what I've already done or I want to do still. If that sounds cool to you lmk. How fast are those dune buggies? Im working on a razor drift kart at the moment got a 1000watt 48v system with 4 18ah lead acid batteries under the seat. Hopefully its fast enough for my "need for speed" but we shall see lol
