Thats a reflex. When your horse makes a uncontrolled jump forward you are pulling a second or so on to reins cause ... yeah..it's a reflex. Normaly you are not trying to hurt you'r horse. Hope you understand me :'] P.s It's my opinion.

Y'all gotta chill, her horses are not aggressive or in pain, you can just tell by the body language. These horses are still quite young and have their times which is normal! If you cannot even read your horses body language then you're not doing so well as a rider :/ At least she's letting her horses be horses! (My horse cannot be lunged since he turns into rodeo mess, even with professionals he ain't having it!)
@harrietevelyn9730

Completely agree, with the horse I lease he is so well behaved had him for 1 year never even bucked or anything and he's a stallion. But when his owner gets on him (we're at the same private yard) he turns back into a normal horse that has his rodeo moments with her. I think he's just looking after me because I'm less confident than her and she is much higher in ability to ride. My Connemara has his moments with me but more naughty with my sister. They can sense confidence and stress.

completely disagree. As a certified coach and horse trainer these women are doing amazing at staying on. It's the lack of knowledge that leads them to believe this is just what horses do. this is very naughty and Rick Gore would agree. There method is stay on cowgirl... but these horses should eventually have someone teach them that this behaviour is not okay. I see it so much where someone says there horse is fully trained and doing this. If your horse is doing this constantly like that you have not trained him and he's very green.
@GeezItsGee
@GeezItsGee 8 жыл бұрын
Christine Sawler I think it really just does depend on the horse itself, I understand that horses start picking up thinking "hey so i can do this? okay!" but I think as this horse and it's owner obviously know eachother well, then it just does this. However they might not be trained but what I meant is that these horses are not aggressive (as people have been saying), I didn't say they weren't green! I've trained horses too and they're all good ones now, but my horse now just won't have it, even after having professional training he becomes himself a couple of weeks later :l some never learn but it's a life-time project and never boring!
@chrissys8600
@chrissys8600 8 жыл бұрын
+Glenna or E-B can't agree sorry. no excuse for this considering I know women and men who can turn any horse good and they will never do this. this is not a horse being a horse. a horse being a horse would be one running in the paddock and bucking and rearing with other horses. but to do this with your partner on your back is not okay by any standards. judges disqualify down here for this. it's not trained and not acceptable. horses can be horses when there partner is not on there back. none of my horses do this. but in the paddocks sure! but you need to establish a high level of respect on the ground first before you jump in the saddle. I see it a lot where people buy a horse and three weeks later there on. I suggest a month and a half if ground training with any horse. that's where you get your respect... that's where you can level with an animal. you never level on its back... because this is what happens. you don't level and the horse continues to rear cause he knows this is okay. it's not.
9 жыл бұрын
Can everybody please stop hating? You do NOT have the right to tell her that the horse is or can be injured. I get sick of reading the comments. Do you really think that the horse would jump if s/he was hurt? Think for your self. It's not your horse, not your problem. I think SHE KNOWS THE BEST FOR HER OWN HORSES! Besides.... I dont think the horses are like this every time she rides. I think the horses are just very happy to have her as their owner.😌

Oats was the same prob we had with our 6-year old mare last year! :D 1,75m tall and strong like hell, and she's got waaaaay too much energy. she got really dangerous... nobody even wanted to get her to the meadow bc nobody could hold her... Even I was scared of going outside with her alone... xD once she got on two hooves and fell to the ground on asphalt on the way to the meadow........ she didn't get seriously hurt but that was when the owner stopped giving her oats...
@Lauren-vd4qe
@Lauren-vd4qe 10 жыл бұрын
alice einfachnein ya way less oats or NO oats just hay and a stronger bit would control him better, perhaps also they have been standing all day in a stall, pasture time lets them run and buck as much as they want.

@Lauren-vd4qe
@Lauren-vd4qe 10 жыл бұрын
alice einfachnein Well if you dont feed them oats, perhaps some other crunchy bits other than hay they greatly enjoy; I fed mine cubes of some type, they crunch them up like chips and its not too energetic for them, some brands are calorie wise and other brands can put weight on your skinny horse, they love them..
@loas5154
@loas5154 10 жыл бұрын
Ours get mash, and they love it. The 26-year old Oldenburg I still ride sometimes gets more than the young mares bc he struggles to hold his weight. Especially the old boy always can't wait to get his mash... It contains little oats too but more other cereals. They also get some carrots and dry bread and the old one gets a normal portion oats as well. :)

I'm always amazed at the fact that you guys find this behavior funny. Nothing about a horse bucking is funny. It's a sign of disrespect, and if you continue to let them get away with it, it's going to turn into a habit that could one day get you either hurt or killed.

Avisen92 Do you not know how to speak English? Or are you just a 12-year old on her parents' computer? What are the odds that you don't even have any videos of yourself even interacting with horses? ...but anyway, to answer your question, no, you don't just "hold on." You don't sit there and laugh and do absolutely nothing. If you even FEEL the horse starting to buck, you BEND THEIR HEAD AROUND IMMEDIATELY and redirect their feet. And actually, if you have a good handle on the horse on the ground, I can guarantee you that about 99.9% of your behavioral problems will disappear. By the way, groundwork is more than just leading your horse to and from the barn and pasture, grooming them, or lunging them around and around in a circle until they're practically bored out of their minds. The more you move their feet, the more respect you'll get.
@Avisen92
@Avisen92 10 жыл бұрын
***** yes, personal attacks, that always proves that you are right...I was in a hurry writing that comment, so yes, the english wasn't good. But that's nothing to do with the issue here. There are always a reason for a horse to "misbehave" and it has nothing to do with "rudeness". Maybe he has an ache some where, his bridle is to tight, he haven't been out in a while (thuse have alot of energ). Or simple he is just feed too much high energy food. Of course the owner of the horse should try to do something about it, and maybe she is!!!WE DON'T KNOW, because it's a 1.27 min long video. I do agree on one thing, its not funny that he bucks or rears, somebody could get hurt. And just for the record, I've been riding for the last 10 years, and have had several horses of my own. In addition I also have 2 year education dealing with horses- both shoeing, disease, taming, and handling of horses.... I'm not interested in discussing this further, I just wanted to point out that you were being unfair to the owner of this video.

Jumping bareback or a shifting saddle (or even no saddle) can be very hurting for the back. I noticed that he always bucks right after a jump or exercise that uses his back or makes him turn. Maybe you should let his back be checked out by a vet or osteopath, because this behaviour seems to be pain and annoyance to me, expecially because you afterwards literally hang on the reins and pull very hard on the bit.

Sorry but this is such total BS! Most horses will buck when being jumped bareback, not because their backs are bad, but because your weight is shifted into a odd position, due to the rider's balance changing on landing. A lot of horses aren't used to being jumped or even ridden bareback, not that I'm saying there aren't horses with bad backs, because there are, sadly. But most riders will have their horses' backs checked regularly, not everyone is clueless about it :) Also most warmblooded breeds are just a little feisty ;)

Your a good rider to sit to them, but a few things you should do to prevent them bucking: Make sure nothing is hurting them such as a saddle rubbing, or gabbing them in the mouth with the bit. Try not to laugh and be soooo loud, it will confuse them. And finally, try to sit up taller and relax into them

To all the people who are taking this so seriously, you need to calm down. She's an amazing rider for being able to stay on when her horses got excited, and all of you telling her how to ride and that her horses are sore and so on shouldn't take everything so seriously. I have a horse who bucks for fun, there is nothing wrong with her, and I'm sure if this person's horses were sore she would know and get it fixed. Don't tell her how to ride, she's obviously a skilled rider and just because she doesn't ride exactly how you do it doesn't mean she's less of a rider. She put this up, in my opinion, to be a funny video, so it bothers me when I come on here and see people to use her seat, not to laugh, ect, when it's not your horse in the first place.

It looked like the one time that you jumped with your hands out he was just fine (cool accent helping you out too). and the times when you kept your hands forward on the reins while jumping you try to brace thereby bouncing and jerking backwards into the forward motion of his hind end when he is bringing it over the jump. I bet that for whatever reason he has a sensitive back or maybe just a little stiff (which can sometimes be helped by certain stretches, or light massages, and just improving your seat in general). My horse has back sensitivities and i am working on fixing it with saddle fit and some really neat saddle pads: the thin line, and back on track (you should really check that one out! it helps warm their back up with therapeutic thermal heat) technology combined in the *contender II pad*. Love your attitude about all the wild crazy little ponies. That's what i call a good sport. (: good luck and God Bless.

I understand people's constructive advice and stuff but the title obviously says that these are fails. So no false promotion of activities is being portrayed. Sure screaming, laughing and squeaking won't help but i'm sure us riders have all done it at least once. Let it slide, the girl looks like a fine rider and has probably learned from her mistakes.

Wild African Signature Hmm horses can misbehave for any number of reasons, but one of those reasons is purely due to excitement. They buck and leap in the field when they’re having fun don’t they? I have a very genuine Hanoverian mare and she does aim to please but if she is fresh or in a field of a canter she will still put the head down and bronc or leap about. That’s what horses do.

You're a good rider, I just think you should correct your horses immediately after they throw bucks like that and then work them to make them regret acting up...for example, if they bolt like that, don't let them keep running, pull them back down to a working trot drive them through figure 8 after figure 8 to get them soft, balanced up, and listening better to you. That's just what I recommend, otherwise you'll keep getting all those bucks and unwanted behavior
@in2horses247

I always heard that if a horse bucks and you slow them down then it's a reward for them, and that if they buck you should make them gallop for ages and that's what will make them regret bucking haha
@alwaysmmmusic
@alwaysmmmusic 9 жыл бұрын
in2horses247 That is definitely better than stopping and getting off, a reward for misbehavior, but I've found you get better results with a driving seat and leg through a pattern for ages....either way, the point is to make them tired, miserable, and regretting throwing a buck

Okay #1 you need to learn to sit your seat, your flopping everywhere and it's confusing the horse, and seeing that you have TWO horses that are rearing, bucking, and kicking should show that your the problem, not them. After they jump you then laugh as if them jumping for you is funny. And when they rear or buck you dont punish them. You sit there and laugh, which is telling the horse that it's okay to rear. You either need lessons, or if your already getting lessons i suggest getting someone else. Because your pulling on the reins wayyy to much and it makes you look like a sloppy rider. I know this is coming out mean but honestly i dont mean to be. But it's the truth

It’s better to ride through misbehaviour and stay calm rather than smacking the shit out of the horse. A lot of the reasons for the horse bucking in the particular case was due to excitement and freshness. Why punish a horse for enjoying itself.

Children in europe can ride, over her we don't drug the pony's for the safety of thechildren who are learning to ride like you do in america. Over here they learn from th first day on that a horse or pony can have a mind of it's own, so we can handle that and enjoy their spirit
@tanayelverton3778

Horses in America aren't drugged either. My first horse, who I acquired in January, is a 2 year old who acts perfectly fine. I've never had riding lessons and am learning all on my own. She is a super calm little filly who loves to just learn. I don't "drug" my horse at all. I don't even know how. You don't see us going to your videos and criticizing you for your origin with false information, don't do it to others.
@Courtmaster121
@Courtmaster121 10 жыл бұрын
Just like Tana Yelverton said, you don't see us Americans going around on Europeans videos and talking trash about crap we don't know about so we advise you do the same. Americans learn the hard way too and from the first ride, I was put on a really strong 18yo OTTB Gelding 16.2hh and boy he can be strong! I've also been put on a couple troublesome ponies from the start and an advanced only TB because he is very dangerous for kids to handle. I handled him on my second lesson. We learn from the start and are part on a completely strange horse and put in an arena and let go. I've only been on a lead or lunge line while in the saddle once and that was doing balancing exercises on a spooky pony, and he still threw me off, but what did I do? I got back on and continued the lesson like nothing happened. Quit saying crap you know nothing about. Everywhere you go there are horrible riders who are either stuck up, or even some who are never taught to even tack up their own horse.

European horses are more spunky than American ones I’ve noticed. People of America always seem to think ponies are crazy and horses are chill but that’s because they do not seem to have many horses at the same level as we do in Europe.

It amazes me how critical everyone is being of this girl. First of all she clearly put the word "FAILS" in the title for a reason, it isn't supposed to be great examples of riding. Second, a lot of you seem to have forgotten that horse's don't always listen and have a mind of their own. You don't know the back story behind her horses, maybe they had just been a little too excited about a bigger jump or colder weather. This girl may also be working on fixing the bucking/rearing habit, it would be foolish to think she could solve it all in one day and it takes a lot of time to teach a horse not to behave in such a manner. I for one think she did a brilliant job in a lot of these scenarios. I would much rather see a rider laugh off a buck rather than become frightened and tense and never want to ride the horse again. She recovered quite nicely too, specifically in the flat class video where after her horse bucked, in only a few strides she cantered by looking as if nothing had happened. Props to you for riding the tough horses and still being able to have fun, which is what this sport is about :)

Some people on this video...... these are obviously FAILS as in NOT REGULAR BEHAVIOR FOR THESE HORSES. in many of these clips I can tell that the horses are fresh and has a lot of pent up energy. So what if she laughs a few times?? What else is she supposed to do? wail in frustration at how bad her horse is? Beat the crash out of your horse??? That will just make your horse feel more trapped and flighty. She did perfectly fine, she kept balanced and in the saddle and stayed calm while her horse was bucking. Everyone's horse sometimes gets a little excited and bucks. It's called BEING AN ANIMAL THAT LIKES TO RUN AND JUMP AND PLAY!!!!
