If a clip was cut, you would have a snippet, which is a tease, whereas a clip, will give you the moment of truth, the crescendo, perfect for a compilation. If your wanting more context, maybe top 5's or 10's etc. most of the time though if its an abrupt end to the clip, it's due to graphic images.
