Would an ESC without any firmware on it, make oscillation? They are similar to P term oscillations. I thought it was lack of soft mounting my flight controller and so many things touching it. However, after soft mounting everything and isolating the fc, there has been no decrease in oscillation

i have three of the Frsky xm+ receivers and im only using them for racing. i can only go about 200 yards with them. and i cant get RSSI to work either. even after following your vids on how to set it to ch.16 i cant get it to work. so its a risk every time i fly with the XM+.

Mr. Steele has a video where he and his buddy compare the range of an XSR to an X4R-SB. The range of the XSR sucked stock. Then after they did the 1/4 wave antenna mod, it did better than the X4R-SB. FrSky decided to shorten the signal reception part of the antenna to 1/5 the 2.4 ghz wavelength, rather than the usual 1/4 wavelength. Supposedly this makes the signal reception more robust within shorter range, which they felt was more appropriate for park flyers and the size of models where you need a tiny receiver. But, this shortens the max. range. Are the ends of the antennae on the XM+ 1/4 wavelength, or 1/5 wavelength? Might be time to test them all against each other with that iNAV build you mentioned a while back. Maybe try two or three different units of each model to see if they vary much.

JC, i need your help plz buddy . i have martain with 7045 / inav omnibus f3 /gps - im trying to tune inav / pids to allow me to fly in gps /cruise mode. so far it flies nice, but it feels laggy and throttle controll is terrable. if u could make a vid with some pointers on tuning inav and still having some descent performance ( like betaflight ) i would be greatfull bro. thanks for the great vids as usual / thanks JC

I got a TBS crossfire, will be testing tomorrow. Hope it is more reliable than the f*****g Frsky. I had better luck with Futaba full size receivers on my 650 quad. Frsky IS the failsafe God's name.

I have a valorem frame, because I wanted to test one out for the price. I can tell you, it's the ONLY frame I have seriously broken an arm on. They are great, don't get me wrong, but they aren't the sturdiest when crashing into hard objects like concrete. I have wrecked from a dive into some concrete with a late pull up before on a Storm SRD210 frame, with minimal damage, and mostly just chipping, but the Valorem frame and a simialr incident on grass resulted in a clean break. It's just cheaper CF. But seriously, $15.99 for a complete X frame? i'll fly them all day long, but I will still build and use my more durable frames as well.

Fark. hope your Taranis aint dead? I have noticed not all receivers are made 'the same' so to speak. I had a XSR that was right RUBBISH in the past. I then got a new one, chopped antennas and repaired and all, and ALWAYS flew heaps better than the prior... Luck of the draw of any small complicated electronics I reckon. Always had better luck with FRSKY than #teamfailsafe (flysky) though...

Michel PASTOR mm I see ty. What can cause this as I'm thinking that's what has happened to me flying my rodeo 110. Guy at shop said it's bc I cut throttle to 0 so motors stopped dead & disarms? I have a recording that looks similar to this but at a greater height. Just falls out the sky all if a sudden..

When the receiver lose the signal it goes into "failsafe" it means it outputs the preset failsafe values to the channels. In the case of a multicopter the flight controller takes control and does what it what configured to do in case of failsafe, that is cut the motors by default after 1s. To maximize your range the antennas need to be placed correctly on your craft. The antennas should be away from sources of interferences (power electronics e.g. ESC) and from metalic parts. If your receiver has two antennas they should be placed 90° one from each other. To maximize range and avoid losing signal you should also always face your craft so that the antenna on your transmitter is in direct line of sight with your craft. You should also check that your antennas haven't been damaged. What radio system are you using and do you know what type of receiver is in your quad ?

Michel PASTOR mm I'm using a devo 7 transmitter, I've no idea what the radio receiver is. This is my 1st fpv quad & so far I've destroyed 1 battery, 3 motors & 1 frame in about 3 months. I've recently swapped the antenna out from a dipole to a 4 leaf plus replaced stock cam with a runcam micro. Have micro min OSD for volt n rssi but I'm practising my solder skills further before I go any further with that.

Hi Mister JC First I would like to tell you all the pleasure I had to see you at Vek Fpv Life, it's some kind of consecration that you deserve for all the work that you have done for the community... And yeah, your flight skills have improved for sure when I look at this video! Maybe can I humbly give you a little kind of a tip: Try to increase your I gain on roll and pitch (I would say at least 60/65 and try maybe more, depend of your quad) and bump up Anti gravity a little, like 3.5 or 4 This will give you a quad who is much stiffer in the air, a little resistant to your command and in my opinion, much more pleasant to fly and to see in video. I know some people don't like this feeling but I think it deserve a try.
