Another excellent job Chris !! I really appreciate your attention to detail and explaining the process before, during and after ! Thanks for sharing.....

What a big difference that has made already, That bit you got the dirt from would be an ideal spot for a camp in the woods and have the pond right there.

It's just amazing what the two of you can achieve in a single day, and with just the mini and the skid steer. I think what I like about this channel is no matter how many videos I watch, I continue to be impressed with your problem solving and all round knowledge. Good stuff. One thing I was wondering about, is that the dirt you had to use did not look ideal for a pond dam. I guess you have to work with what you've got, unless the client wants to pay to have truck loads of clay brought in.

The practice on your Hitachi with mechanical thumb comes in handy when you've got the thumb on the Yanmar disabled for the tilt bucket.
@TrevorDennis1005 жыл бұрын
A good call Hughzie. I hadn't occurred to me that the tilt bucket used the same hydraulic circuit as the thumb.

@mattywho84855 жыл бұрын
So the matting that you put in the spillway is designed to have grass grow up through it so the water can rush over it without washing out the dirt?

Great work once again. It would be great if you could go back to some of your work sites to see how well it has stood up to weather and time and do a before and after type thingy. Just a suggestion as I am often curious as I think others are how the job sites look like now. Cheers H

The end result sure speaks for your quality. I too couldn’t quite figure out how the water was supposed to flow before your repairs (“the same damn way!”). Mostly that pipe is confusing. An overflow pipe? If so, did you put it back in?

What you need to invest in is a compactor for your excavator. Its slower but they work great. I can drive wooden posts in the ground with mine. I've tried tracking my ditches in . But they wont test out 95% as required by specs. So I bought a hydraulic compactor, 10k later. I have no problem now . Hope it works well for ya.
