Calvin, I am surprised you didn't do more research. First, Fair has a lot of excellent benefits as your guest described. Though, as a newer company, Fair is having a terrible time with growing pains and (unfortunately) has 100's of unhappy drivers. You didn't touch on the following - 1. cars are not ready as quick as your guest said. They are having trouble keeping up with demand. A potential driver has to make a reservation online with the Fair app, then pay the $185 deposit, and then go into the Fair location the driver designates per the Fair app. I did this. There were approximately 70 drivers that showed up one morning about a month ago. Fair had no cars. You had a lot of people pissed off because they couldn't get their deposits back to go elsewhere since Fair could not guarantee when a car would be available. Could have been that day, could be a week. 2. I rented a Fair car for a month (it is week to week though you must renew after 4 weeks). When I went to renew, their site was having issues so I had to go into the Fair location I picked up from. When I went in to do that, their site was not allowing renewals. So, they had to have me turn the car in. They said I would then be first in line to get a car (and they said I could get the same car). Well, their were 133 people ahead of me and the system crashed. To make things worse, the weekly payment of $199.17 (this was $185 + tax) came out of my account. They took money but I had no car. I called the manager the next morning and she said they were still have issues. I needed to drive so I got another car from another ride sharing site though it was a $150 deposit with a $325 per week rental. I did if for a week to make money though to pay $325 and not have the 70 or 120 ride bonus was too much. Out of the blue, the Fair manager texted me saying is I wanted to rent a car, they had them in and I could get one (this was 3 days into my new rental with another company). So, I texted back that I did want one. She said make a reservation on the Fair app and come in the next morning and she would have a car for me. I paid the $185 deposit and went in the next morning (along with 14 other people). Bottom line, no one got a car as their site went down. Super frustrating as I didn't drive that day so I could get a car from them. They sent us home. I got a call at 4:00 p.m. that day and she said they could bring me a car (drive it to me). I said great. They did bring it at 6:00 pm. It was frustrating because they counted that day as day 1 in the 7 day week. I thought that was weak as I had no chance to drive it and the day counted as day 1. Anyway, there were other things like the first car was in the shop for one whole day because the breaks were bad (meaning I couldn't make money and they did not give me a one day credit) and then the new car I just got has already been in the shop for 5 hours because of breaks. Their cars are newer and nice though I feel they don't check any safety items (like breaks) when they rent them out. I have numerous other complaints as well. Bottom line, if they get their s**t together, they are awesome. Great weekly price plus incentives to get your car paid for. I give them a 7 out of 10 stars.

It shows $548 nonrefundable deposit on my Fair (Im in L.A.) and they also Do Not cover major maintenance like brakes, battery, tires, electrical or emission system, the driver pays for any of these repairs. Buyer beware. Also good luck getting them on the phone for customer service.- just as bad as Uber, no one to talk to, no central head office.

i see a bunch of potential problems with requiring drivers to pay for things like batteries, brakes, tires, etc.. For example, the driver before you could have needed a new battery and just borrowed one from another car, and put the bad battery back in for the next driver.. Same with tires.. if you get a vehicle that is close to needing tires, people are just gonna run them bald and turn them in which has safety concerns.. don't even get me started on brakes.. people are just going to run the hell out of them safely or not and try to keep them going till they turn them or have their mechanic rig the cars to make it through the week.. then, the next driver will be stuck with repairs that uber might not catch, or the hassle of getting a different vehicle from uber. At first when the program is new, i can see drivers getting decent cars that haven't been dragged to hell and back but as the program continues, if uber doesn't update their fleet which is big money, it could get pretty bad.

Thanks for the comment. I definitely did my research. I actually sat down with the Fair representatives. They are trying to figure things out like any other new company starting off. It’s not perfect, but surely a great option for drivers on the Uber platform. I actually published another video with my favorite benefits. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGe3i36eZrF_Y5I

Not for me. I have a beautiful immaculate 2006 Toyota Camry that I use to drive for Uber here in Florida. Paid cash for it. No monthly payments. HUGE. All my HARD earned money stays with me. This is just more ways for Uber to take my HARD earned money. Now, later, I will buy another used vehicle, with cash, a little newer year...no monthly payments. I have Stage IV Breast Cancer, and 4 children. Single mother. I have to keep my money. I don't buy snacks, I don't open doors, I don't provide much. And almost all my rides give me a tip. It is called good manners, and good conversation. I lived in NYC, I never complained in a NYC Taxi....even when it smelled, or it was dirty. If the Taxi Driver was friendly, that is all I cared about. Feeling safe. Trust. Things like this just complicates things. $740 a Month? I have rent to pay. I think it is fascinating that your channel talks about Uber so intensely....and now you are in a commercial for Uber.

Now knowing what Uber is like, they'll make a nice deal for us now, but soon will make the deal sour by gradually reducing bonuses, increasing weekly rental costs, adding fees for going over a certain number of miles, and so on.

Not for Uber drivers. If you do not sync your Uber account it is a personal account, personal accounts are limited to ten thousand miles or pay the difference. Uber is unlimited. Personal is monthly fee, Uber is weekly.

I was just told by Fair, that I have to pay for things like brakes, battery replacement, major repairs. They only covering minor repairs. Not a good deal. Also the price for the ride I wanted was 204 + tax, not 185. And the deposit was going to be $400 + some other fees that arent refundable. I guess they had to get this brother who aint from Cali to help them recruit new drivers. i dont see no other Uber youtube guys talking about this. I guess Calvin dont know they just had a big strike in Cali after U er lowered our rates and their other other things in the works. Plus gas is $4 dollars a gallon out here! You gotta look a the fine print folks. This is like those predatory payday loans on lower income people. Tou gotta drive full time 40+ hours a week to do 70 rides, and 60 hours a week to do 120 rides. Yeah, I see why they got this brother, he dont know the cali market.

I'm still on my XChange car. I can hang on to it for one more year but I am strongly thinking about getting a car through FAIR before then. The only thing that I don't like is that, down here in San Diego, they don't have a great selection of vehicles. I remember that when I got my car from XChange, I had a big selection to pick from and chose what I liked.

How do I get Uber to reactivate me? I was just deactivated for a 0 (zero) points citation I received 9 months ago. I’ve tried and tried and tried to get someone at Uber to understand the South Carolina guidelines, and that the ticket I received weighs less than a speeding ticket, which is 2 points. Any help to get me back on the road would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

@Powerofpublish5 жыл бұрын
Hey Lori, great comment. The Fair Program simply offers options. They cover insurance, maintenance, and more importantly, you don't have to worry about car depreciation or mileage. Plus, there is no long term commitment. Minimum use of the car is only 7 days, versus 36 or 60 months of a car payment and insurance. I'm actually going to publish a video that covers my Top 7 benefits of "The Fair Program".

Faithy Wray it comes out to $243.00 after taxes now. It’s not worth it now it was before. 90 rides $115 125 rides which is overkill in a seven day period is $195. Good thing is insurance but your paying a luxury payment a month for a compact car...
@aurielle.g5 жыл бұрын
I currently rent with Fair through Uber and it’s great. What I will say is vehicles are limited. Luckily I’ve had mine for almost two months now and just keep making a new contract every month so I won’t have to return the vehicle. Every week I make an extra 185 which is pretty much the weekly rental amount of 200 making 70 rides which I do in four days or three. I can get maintenance pretty much anywhere and that process was easy. First week driving with Uber I made 800$ second week 800 and third week 1000 . Love how I can make my own hours I really enjoy this program.

It's nothing at all with driving 60 plus hours a week the thing is is Uber takes too long to get these programs to other cities like I have not dropped out there five star since I've been a driver and I've been driving for just under three years and Columbus Ohio but that program of keeping a five-star in the week has not made it to Columbus Ohio but eight other cities then had it for like more than a year
