I wish I'd watched this about 6 weeks ago. The technique for picking up floats is fantastic. I've just finished a Fair Isle cardigan and all the other videos and instructions just seem to say lay the yarn to be caught in across the other yarn before making the stitch which is impossible to do without letting go of the left hand yarn and leads to the two yarns being twisted. I'm now on to a Nordic style jumper and this technique makes it so much easier. Thank you.

Glad it helped! There are so many variations, I'll bet some knitters may have found this video more confusing! 😂 Happy knitting 🧶

Thank you for this very helpful and encouraging video. I am trying Fair Isle for the first time! I am taking it very slowly and chose a simple seeding pattern so I don’t have to worry about following a chart too much as you recommend. I'm really getting into the swing of it now!

You are right sounds complicated but once I got the hang of it (took many rewatches and knitting attempts) I mastered this very useful skill of catching the float as I Fair Isle Knit. 😊 This is my first attempt at it and I used only this video to learn. The second technique of catching the float worked best for my knitting style. I look forward to seeing what your other videos can teach me. I am finally working on this Fair Isle Knitting pattern that I've had for 8 years and spent $100 on high quality Nordic wool. Blessings ♥️

I’m going to conquer this, Hannah! I made the other baby hats, but this one eluded me twice. Lol. Since doing the cowl knit along, I’m to do this! Thank you for your clear and concise videos.

No competition here, Raquel - it felt impossible to me when I started knitting with 2 colours. If it's something you'd like to start, , it's same as everything else; one stitch at a time. Happy knitting 🧶

I’m not sure, it’s a while since I filmed this. It will likely be in the second half if it’s there. We did it in the knit-along during the summer if you’d like to see it in finer detail: academy.knitwithhannah.co.uk/sg-baby-hats-trio Happy knitting 🧶

As someone who's struggled with knitting in the las few months, I will be returning to larger needles and yarn, so they're easier to handle. In the past I've also dabble with a bit of weaving when knitting hasn't been possible, it's still letting me play with yarn, but uses different finger movements.
