Rex Applegate had a funny story on his first encounter with Fairbairne. It ends with: "...the next thing I knew, I was flying through the air and landed on the first two rows of the audience."

excellent time capsule video of Fairbair's western combatives! I wish there was a DVD collection of all his footage. notice the knee to the groin and chin jab are a standard in his system. the closest thing to this still taught out there are American Combatives and Canadian Combato. Charlie Nelson passed away however there are some still dedicated to keeping American combatives (adaptation of Fairbairn)alive. thanks for posting!

Thanks so much for posting this! I've just started reading up on Fairbairn and his techniques and it really makes a difference being able to see it in action.

I feel like I should be smoking a filter less cigarette while cooking a steak and drinking scotch as I watch this.

Military training. This might have been made during WWII so they wore masks.
