What is your experience with the fairtex kickpads? Do you prefer other brands?

Hi Izzy. Really helpful video, many thanks indeed. Can I ask what your opinion is on the Standard size vs Extra Long? Have you ever used the Extra Long? I am sure they are less 'friendly' when it comes to training fast kick AND hand combos - clunkier and heavier - but if you were looking to focus a bit more on kicking, would you recommend them over the Standard? Or, in your opinion, does Standard simply suffice for everything? Sorry man, just curious...

I think standard is fine! If you want to feel better about a selection, take a look on Instagram to see what Thai teachers are using. It’ll always be standard.

2:57 My dude is really gonna say he doesn't know if it's real leather while shoving the "Made in Thailand - GENUINE LEATHER" stamp in the camera lens. The leather of the striking surface isn't as soft as the leather on the holder's side because you want your striking surface to be hard, and your handling surface to be comfortable. It's all real leather, just different spots are tanned differently. 3:06 This is actually Fairtex's way of showing which part of the pad is soft enough for the holder to throw at the hitter to test the hitter's defense without causing injury. Fairtex's punch mitts and a few of their other Thai pads have the same pattern for the same reason. But yeah, I'll give it to you, it does look tacky.

Hah turns out that I rarely look at the pad. I think what I should have said was that I wasn’t sure what type of leather it is. And I didn’t know that’s how FT marks their equips. Still tho!

LOL here i am searching up fairtex thai pads and I stumbled on your video Izzy! I didn't even realize it was you after I clicked and was like WHAT THE HELL. Great review man, we should get to training, I just started again a month ago and been acquiring my own gear over the months. Hit me up man and keep it up!

I bought these and they feel hard when kicking. Does the padding get softer after breaking them in?

They should absolutely get softer.

Im after some thai pads.... But unsure on whats best for me. I want to do some training with my family. Thai pads, Size? i dont see that anywhere Belly pad, Size of waist? I dont see that advertised anywhere Im like 44ich waist... Which is big.....And unbelievably i actually train alot, just very natural large build, i tried some thai pads in past and my forarms didnt fot the hoop strap's

Yah it suck’s that this equipment is designed for 135lb Thai dudes! For you to train your family, using boxing focus mitts or just holding up your gloves will be enough. Also need shin guards to train like this. You can’t too powerful! Belly pad I would say is not necessary unless you’re practicing knees and teeps at full power.

Let me know what you end up doing tho. It’s a pain to not have the right equipment for you 😩
@izzyr__2 ай бұрын
At the same time, a belly pad may still work for you. I’m a 38 inch waste now (got fat 🙃) but my belly is certainly bigger.

Can you do a vid on how to kick higher? I am trying to stretch and stuff but I cant kick above like waist level
@izzyr__4 жыл бұрын
Yup I can do that! I started at waist level and ended up being able to reach the head. In the mean time I think you have the right idea with stretching. I like to stretch first thing in the morning, before my training session, and then directly after.

If you don’t you should start putting leather hydration stuff on it
@izzyr__2 жыл бұрын
That’s a good tip! 4 years and counting and it’s holding up pretty good. Really it’s the Velcro that is struggling to stay.

@@izzyr__ nice I’m thinking about getting these where did you buy yours at?
