The decision is just a recommendation and not final.

"We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law......." until we don't want to. Then we'll use our sizeable $130,000,000,000 bank account to get our way - any way we want. It's the LD$ way.

They're just discussing about it. Lets see what is the final decision. Then I am sure the church will follow the final word. Until this happens, we are going to try it. The community will be so blessed but they dont understand it.

@@davidlima4471 Nobody who doesn’t belong to the cult will be “blessed” I would be furious if I had invested in a home and suddenly had a tacky Disney castle blocking my view of the landscape. Non-Mormons do not want this. It is amazing the bubble they live in just assuming everyone really wants their cult. Same kind of insulting condescension that comes from missionaries and schmucks like Brad Wilcox.

Where ever a temple is built the property values go up. And also these people don’t realize that most temples are built in residential areas.
@only1synergy3 ай бұрын
A physical building is not your First Amendment right whether it's for a church or not. Nobody is to get around ordinances regarding height and footprint whether at the church or not. And this is a residential area it's not even commercial property which is where church is supposed to be put on. Is not permitted for commercial buildings which is what a church is.

Great and Spacious Buildings

Quite the opposite actually. Compared to the worldly ways temples are few and far between but more sacred the world really needs. That great and spacious bldg is against God. TEMPLES are for Godly ways.

@@alisarichardsramirezmusic2233The church could simply follow their own article of faith and honor the law. Instead, they threaten to sue if they dont get to build their 100+ foot vanity spire.

@@alisarichardsramirezmusic2233 Respectfully, go pound sand. Churches dont have the right to build infinitely tall spires in the name of their religion. Tell your church to use their hordes of wealth for something good instead of multi-million dollar vanity projects.

Why are Utah Mormons trying to make McKinney, TX into Utah Part II??? I don’t get it. So weird. Not a lot of Mormons in Texas per capita. But for some weird reason they’re trying to make McKinney, Texas a Mormon stronghold.

For you Texas residents I would recommend you look to the newly constructed Taylorsville Temple in Utah. It sits under the Salt Lake City Airport flught path. The FAA requirements reduced the height of the steeple, substantially diminished the lighting, and dictated a red-light, rather than a bright white light on top of the steeple. When it's the FAA and the threat of confused aircraft in low visibility they'll reduce the size of the Phallus to heaven- aka Steeple.

Look your size issues has nothing to do with us. You don't need a bigger building to worship. You need to follow the laws. And no church is above the law. It doesn't say anywhere in the Constitution separation of church and state. Which means that churches have to follow the laws. Freedom of religion has nothing to do with the building. Because if you can't substantially withstand the building the building automatically becomes intimate domain of the city county and the state. All property in every state belongs to the US government it is least to you I E why you have taxes. And yes the majority of the church is do have to pay some kind of tax on part of the property. The tax only covers the actual building that's worshipped. All pastors still have to pay tax on many things, not all tax is exempt for religion. And soon religions like this will be taxed to a certain point. Churches are not for profit nor to pay politicians. Oh yeah those reported at lengths.

It’s across the street from the sonic & and a little shopping center only about a mile or so from 75. This is clearly persecution.
@jonjahr34035 ай бұрын
No, it isn't persecution! Persecution would be if the people said they could not have the Temple at all. These people are simply asking the church to conform to local zoning laws. In a case like this, they're simply asking them to be good neighbors.

Persecution?? You dont know what persecution is.
@stacirobinson20936 ай бұрын
The height is not essential to building a temple. There are so many lds temples that have been built with much shorter spire and/or smaller footprint. The fact that the church has been essentially bullying or bribing their grandiose designs through city councils in Fairview, Las Vegas, and other areas is really disappointing. You'd think that the church that proclaims to be the one true church that speaks for God, with Jesus Christ at the helm through modern prophets, especially one who is big on missionary work and getting others to join the ranks, would be more gracious neighbors 🤷♀️🤔🫤
