This is probably one of my favorite friendships among this guild, it’s basically a love hate relationship, Natsu wants to strangle him, but in the end, he’ll practically risk his life for the guy, like trying to save his life from being taken with the iced shell. I hate the fact that Gray is underestimated just because, unlike his famous rivals, he wasn't born from ego, hate, or jealousy. Its better to have a character like Grey or Zoro than just lets says everyone favorite sociopath. Though Fairy Tails is the power of friendship, conflict between member or healthy rivalry like Grey and Natsu is gains more weight when they snap for real, like in demon Slayer Grey vs E.N.D. No one is himself in that instance and when Erza steps-in to stop them. Oh man, the weight is there. As for Zoro, just check the Water 7 arc, when he clearly got Luffy best interest as captain and that quitting a crew should goes that easy. He is fine with Usopp as long as he apologize. He knows everyone still wants Usopp back but he must knows that by making that decision, he was wrong. Since Usopp join first, they tolerate him calling himself the captain, but after Water 7, he didn't. Also Thriller Bark arc, Zoro nothing happen, only Sanji saw how bad he look and might connect the dot, but he never speak about it. Though Sanji and Zoro are also in a rivalry, they looking out for each other. Sasuke whole deal was direct jealousy because Naruto was getting stronger.

It’s funny because he could have just tackled him like he did in the final arc, but he just goes for a punch because it’s easier and he was in the middle of a fight Gray just barged in on and then tried to die on. He tackled him because he was about 5 seconds away from death, and he used his flames to heat him up so he didn’t actually use the spell.

I must say tho, the one that was stopped when he fought Silver got to be the most beautiful. When he used it, Ultear showed up again in his mind. And it was the same farewell image that was used for Jellal and Meredy, with her saying "You have to keep going, you have to live, for me". In the past, Ultear wanted Gray to use that spell because of her hatred for him. But when he used that spell against Silver, no one was there to stop him. Natsu was busy too with his own fight. She saved him 3 times in a row, during the fought with the 7 Dragon, against Doriath, and against Silver. And 3 times, she saved him, she wasn't even in the same place as him.
