If Zeref dies, I don't believe that Natsu would die too. Look at this way, Zeref done everything in his power to bring his brother back to life. So why would he make it so that if he dies, so does his brother? No, should Zeref, I think that Natsu will live on too... as it was Zeref's wish from the beginning and any he became the Dark Wizard he is now, to bring Natsu back from the dead.

I would love it if after all the fighting zeref tells the whole story. and we see everyone's jaw drop. he tells how the demons. and the flute were for him to die not to kill others . how natsu is his brother and just spills everything . I could see Natsu and Zeref teaming up on Acnologia. I think Zeref still has some decency in him, even after living 400 years and I think if he sees Acnologia destroying Natsu in a fight (which would inevitably happen if the two of them fought), Zeref would take on the bigger brother roll and beat the living shit out of Acnologia. I'd love to see a fight like that, like Natsu & Zeref vs Acnologia. On the contrast, if Natsu and Zeref team up Fairy Tail could possibly take it the wrong way and think Natsu is two timing them. I don't think that would happen, but it's a possibility.

I find it hard to believe Zeref will turn good straight away, because he still has the curse of contradictions, so every time he try's to turn good the curse will start all over like when we first met him. There could be a possible arc for fairy tail to try and find a cure for this curse.

Something I'm really hoping to happen is that at least the 5 main dragon slayers get sent back to the past 400 years ago via the Eclipse Gate so they can train and slay dragons to get stronger because they realize that Acnologia is just too strong for them now. They get stronger and stronger by bathing in dragon's blood and since it's already almost guaranteed that they won't transform into dragons, they can train a lot. They travel back to the future by using the Eclpise gate and fight Acno. I think this is possible because, if I'm correct, only 1 Eclipse gate got destroyed, so there is still another one. Since it requires so much magic power to open, they will use Fairy Heart to open it with the Celestial Spirits. The dragon slayers and any1 else who also travels to the past might also meet up with Acnologia and Anna Heartfilia. Just a thought lol :D

I think that Acnologia might have something to do with Natsu, Zeref, his curse and the God himself. We don't know anything about him at all except he's the strongest dragon slayer/dragon ever lived and only seen him in action 4 times this whole series

I think more than anything when it comes down to it, it will be a 3 way showdown with Natsu, Zeref and Acnologia, Natsu being either awakened as END or not (either way works) and then Acnologia will attempt to kill Natsu, but Zeref will get in the way of the attack and die in the process, not before revealing the truth to Natsu (who if he is awakened as END will snap out of it seeing Zeref dying) and then giving Natsu the final power up he needs to to kill Acnologia.

Just wanted to add a couple side notes. First, Zeref doesn't just know about the Dragneels, he is one! Believe it or not, Zeref is Natsu's older brother. Crazy, right?! Second, Hiro Mashima has confirmed that the Alvarez arc will be the last official arc of Fairytail. However, he is considering starting a another manga/anime series. Whether or not this will be Fairytail: Next Generation or something like that, I don't know. It could just be a whole new series. Again, I don't know.

I would like to see Zeref good but also understood above all cause that is apart from Fairy Heart why this war is happening. He has had his fill of stupid Ishgar wizards causing so much mayhem and trouble and luring Acnalogia out proving that they are beyond saving and will only bring their own destruction each and every time. Even his own Demon Library drew him to them like idiots and not once has anyone truly looked at who Zeref is what he's done why he's done it. But something tells me Natsu will cause that's all he's ever done. Each and every time we learn why the Oracion Seis Grimoire Heart and so on do what they do even Jellel and who was it who snapped him out of it Natsu who was it that beat Midnight into submission and stopped his poor me mentality Natsu. There for I truly believe that it will be Natsu who does it again for Zeref he will ask why is he doing this for what purpose does it serve. And possibly drop the bomb on him about the whole brother thing saying "if you really are my brother then why are you doing this to us and to the guild that raised me." hell he might even demand to know where Zeref has been all this time that he wasn't there for Natsu if he is truly his older brother. something along those lines which as I said will probably drop the bomb we are all waiting to drop in the series.
