Of all of the peoples of the world, I have found it is the Irish who are best at celebrating the life of a soul passed on. The very best at living in the shadow of death. Even in the same room. We will all miss Shane, and the talent he brought to bear on the world. Even those like me who never met him. He touched us all in some way. In his legacy he will never be forgotten. the Irish know how to pay their respects. i went to an Irish funeral once, after the service it was back to the pub for a lock-in. 6 hours of singing, music and celebrating the deceased.

This is how us scousers are with our loved ones funeral. My husbands was the same. We had the wake at 1pm through till the early hours. Singing dancing remembering his life. We are descendants of our Irish grandparents as well as our Scottish & Welsh grandparents. So maybe that’s why we do this for our loved ones who pass away. Xx💖💙🙏🏻
