Yesssssss ☺️ I saw Nick Cave in concert at St Andrew's hall in Detroit when I was only in my 20's in the early 1990's and I treasure that night forever. In a sad scary world at least I feel so lucky to be a Gen X'r. I feel like we were there for so much that people who weren't could never understand...😢

I first saw Nick at a Saturday afternoon pub talent quest in Melbourne, Australia. If you are reading this Nick, yep, that was me.I was the audience member. He had a punk band.I think they were called the Boys Next Door and they performed These Boots Are Made For Walking.Yes, even then he was charismatic enough to have a big impact.

I remember I had a maths teacher who was a big Pogues fan, would read lyrics in assembly and discuss how beautiful they were. I remember trying to talk to him about Nick Cave and he was dismissive and said he was terrible. 30 years later, I wonder what he thinks about this. I bet he knows what I was getting at now. Salute, Mr Ridings, if you’re watching.
