This is a complicated issue. I noticed Bishop Laird never mentioned the Christian teaching on the fall. Also Jesus did not come to make us equal we were already equal but the teaching of The Fall Of Mankind shows why we are not as equal as we ought to be. If you mix those two ideas; equality before the fall and the reason why Jesus came to earth then there will never be progress on this conversation.

Protestant Christians believe in the authority and sufficiency of scripture alone! This woman and any woman who believes this way is in direct opposition to God's command in the scripture. Nothing about oppression, rather it is the way God has ordered His church. Don't like it, then you don't like what God has said. I Timothy 2:11-15 'Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. Well, men were better suited, I would say - they are stronger, and being an Apostle was physically demanding. But we do say of St. Mary of Magdala that she is "one with the Apostles" (sorry, not sure how to translate that). I do believe there were both practical and theological reasons for the priesthood of men, and I also see no valid or practical reason to change it. The desire to change it comes from a place of pride, in my opinion, which is a sin. The ultimate point of faith is to be as sinless as possible (so you can be reunited with God, in Heaven), not to get a job. It doesn't make sense to be so concentrated on who gets what job.
