Priests must have the likeness of Jesus, a male figure. Women are not suitable for this role. Nuns are women who commit their lives to the Lord, though they don’t have authority in the church. The male equivalent would be a monk. A lot of prayer, meditation, vows of silence.. etc

If the Pope changes church policy, then, as with many changes in the Catholic Church over centuries, people will adapt. It looks more like a small protest at this point. Martin Luther challenged some of the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church, was excommunicated by the Pope, and became an important figure in the Protestant Reformation. I do not think these women are anywhere close to having the support and political clout within the Church to make this much of an issue for the Pope anytime soon. Popes have withstood much more pressure than they can bring to bear.

I noticed a huge flaw in this report. To become a priest the sacrament if Holy Orders must be conferred. This may only be done by a Bishop of higher authority. In the Catholic Church this authority must be traced back to Jesus and the apostles ( i.r., bishops consecreating priests). Here the report did not address the requirement that is essential to become a Catholic priest. It was not even touched upon, and for good reason. It completely undermines the whole report and exposes the lack of truth and substance.

Setting gender aside, becoming a priest in the Catholic Church requires at least 6-8 years in the seminary, it's unlikely these grandmas have the patience for that.

The Catholic Priest acts in the Person of Christ, in Persona Christi. Thus, we shouldn’t, can’t, and won’t put women in that position, especially if it has not been (and simply won’t ever be) God’s Will for His Church. This is especially the case as Jesus Christ never ordained women into Priestly roles, because it would be like asking a mother to defend a family in a time of danger instead of a father. There are inherent m differences between men and women that make certain roles necessarily available to one or the other, and not both (ie. motherhood by pregnancy, Sisterhood, the Priesthood).
