So when I'm singing certain hymns for memory care folks, I can see where Jesus and the Spirit are converting them. As they get closer to the end of this life, their spirits are really crying out. Thanks

Dear Fathers- thank you for this! “The goal should always be Christ. The mental, emotional and physical wellbeing can be the means to this end.” Makes me this of St. Ignatius’ 1st Principle and Foundation. When I first read Story of a Soul, (over 30 years ago), because of my own misunderstanding about this, I was scandalized to know that (now Saint) Louis Martin had a mental breakdown and was institutionalized. At the time I was going through my own deep dark depression, and had a thought that I was unloveable and unworthy because of my mental and emotional state. Now that I have been with the Lord for decades I see the opposite is true: God loves us because He created us. He desires to have an intimate relationship with us! ❤❤

I'm 22 years old with ADHD and MDD. I'm in therapy and on meds for ADHD but it seems things only get worse the more I try to make them better. If I did not know Jesus, I would have probably put a bullet in my head by now, if not fast on the way.

🙋🏼♀️same diagnosis (and then some…) I feel you, hard. I just quit adhd stim meds bc they were making the bad thoughts come back and I said, well no, the MAOI makes those stop….If I may, be gentle with yourself. Care, less. I find with adhd we care a LOT about a LOT, and often don’t hit the mark anyway 🤷♀️ So just telling myself “it’s a Chico’s kind of day 🙃” and that I now care less helps a lot. Of course. Keeping first things first, all things Catholic and prayer. Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can ❤.

We need more Catholic psychologists. The secular ones just blow with the wind.

Dear Fathers - many thanks for addressing this « subject » rather than « issue ». I feel compelled however to add that God’s grace - unconditional love for each and every one of us His children is absolutely unlimited - unconditional - unmeasurable. He will always console us and carry us through the toughest times - in life - with not only the challenges here on earth - but also with mental health♥️ Finding good Christian therapists and health care professionals may be challenging at times - but pray and reach out to Him - asking for his guidance in these difficult times and situations - because He is there - ALWAYS ♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻♥️ #andlovewillhavethelastword #always Many blessings and prayers for your ministry !

Thank you for what you do, we desperately need more people speaking sense and truth in this doubtful world. Keep your eyes set and trust in Christ and all will be well. Remember not to judge others, God set us all on our own paths we should follow.

Does our mental health really not preclude us from pursuing Christ? Because in my experience, going through managing emotional dysregulation (call it whatever psych diagnosis you want, there’s been many labels given to me…), sometimes when it’s dark, it DOES make it harder to pursue God. Especially when it doesn’t feel like He is helping. Just a short 2 cents comment.

There is a great need for more practioners in the field, there can be a long wait. Please encourage those who are determinig fields of study to consider mental health.

Fr Gregory Pine is looking a lil bit worn out lately. I hope he's taking care of his health- sleep, etc. Amazing beard tho, maybe that's where all the health is going. If so, I believe it's worth it.

I really would advice Catholics not to go to secular mental health professionals, they are educated to view our beliefs as opposing human happiness and it is impossible to address the mind without impinging on beliefs. They are also trained to promote drugs and while I acknowledge medication has a part to play in helping some ill minds, they are way too freely dished around and so many end up much, much worse off. My fall into loss of faith and divorce in my thirties began with psychological counselling for depression. My disabled daughter's recent experience with a counsellor only resulted in her repeating like a mantra "it's my choice, it's my choice.." Over what issue? Having sex with her boyfriend.
