I was prepared to be disappointed-but this was a very beautiful woman who could dance.RIP.

Those huge fans are surprisingly heavy. I used to perform in neo-burlesque, and a fellow performer let my try out her fans. You really need muscles to work them so gracefully.

The One and Only---still looking and dancing beautifully after creating this dance in Earl Carroll's Vanities on Broadway in 1928!! SORRY SALLY---maybe we will give you the "Bubble Dance"/// My love of Faith Bacon is widely known, and I own a major collection of portraits of her from the Great American Revue!! PEACE!

I was at her grave just three hours to this reply. She rests at Wunder Cemetery in Chicago. Someone is leaving flowers there for her. Odd as she had no family as I understand.

Ten years past her prime, in 1942 she was flat broke. She went to Chicago hoping she was still famous for her Chicago World Fair performance. She couldn't find work and decided to end it all. She was alive for only a few hours after her fatal plunge from a 2nd story hotel window. She had been staying with sympathetic young women who tried to stop her. The papers reported that a "stripper" had committed suicide. She had been known as the "most beautiful dancer in the world." Her smile seems sad in this soundie.

Lindo! Linda Faith Bacon!

What a terrible ending of her life

Looks as if it was shot with a single camera. (Close-ups don't synch with the wide shots). Pretty brave for 1942. She regarded her work as Art, adding surrealist touches as in the film above. She said that she would only dance completely nude if everyone in the audience was an artist and could see the beauty of such a performance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKnVk6Ghg9J5fac
