Yet when I speak my truth, I find this woman's comment telling me that I'm not capable of understanding a topic/point of view on social media which was camouflaged to hide the racism. They used Black people to teach and represent White people yet we/they NEVER received no credit for thier labor and time, or even if they did receive credit, they were paid far less than the White people they taught were paid. Look at HISTORY, it basically speaks for itself. Nonetheless, there is good and bad in EVERYONE. There has never been another child actress/actor that can be compared to Shirley. She was a phenom..talent beyond words. Such a beautiful, expressive, genius she was. Her expressions weren't acting, it was the real Shirley. You can't fake what she had. Never anyone to follow in her footsteps, she's one of a kind. And Mr. Robinson was the greatest of all times. There have been other tappers that are great but Mr. Robinson is the best of all. 2 of the greatest legends ever. ❤

My mother had Shirley Temple’s autobiography that she wrote before she was 20. It had so much of her innocence in it. I do think her personality was just as it seemed on screen. She liked Bill Robinson. When she was little, he had to learn the steps she knew, and he was gracious enough to do that. He was so good with her, and such an amazing dancer! He always made her look good. She was told not to become too close to him, but I believe they really were friends. I love watching them dance together.

I loved these movies. I didn't even have a thought in my head about "color", my parents never said a word because I think they did not discriminate based on anything but character. I am in my 70's and glad my grown children feel the same way. Color is irrelevant. Dancing, now that's fun !!! Only small minds find big problems where there are none. ❤ Sure do miss the good old days.

Even though I'm caucasian I had an african baby doll, and that doll was with me no matter where we went. I also raised my son the same way, he never saw 'color' as I never did or do. I wish people today could just live and let live.

I’m in my mid 60s and I’m a second generation dancer. My mother also took tap from Bill Robinson when she was a little girl. He taught a lot of the kids from the MGM and other studios during that era. What was genius about his teaching is that he never taught kids to do a slow shuffle otherwise known as front back step. He taught them fast shuffles to four-year-olds. My mother at her dance studio kept that tradition and I also kept that tradition for 40 years. Little kids can tap Dance. Under six years old they can’t do much ballet at least proper ballet. But they can tap. And they can talk well. Because all they’ve been doing for their first few years of life is going right left right left right left on the walking and running. 80% of the challenge of tap dancing is weight change. Not only was Bill Robinson was an incredible tapdancer himself. He was an amazing teacher to young children!

Yes, you can see how much she loved and respected Mr. Robinson. They shined together making all the scenes wonderful. It is said that they isolated Shirley most of the time so working with Mr. Robinson must have been a rare bit of sunshine in her life. She made 63 films, short and full length films. In most of them she was in a majority of the scenes singing, dancing and acting. Starting when she was three she was amazing and I am glad she got away from MGM so quickly. 💕🙏

When did we stop having racial tension? White people have been persecuted by the US government since the 1960's, have had their neighborhoods torn down and their homes ripped out from underneath them with their own tax dollars. The movies tell a story. Put a little white girl together with an adult male negro, and you have tension. Give them some dance moves, and you can enjoy the combination. Don't confuse art with real life.

I am an African-American woman in my middle 60s I grew up looking at Shirley Temple and Bojangles Robinson. Those are the favorite of the favorite movies I’ve ever watched growing up. I really enjoy watching both of them dance together. Because of little Shirley's love for Mr. Robinson , she played a big part in breaking down barriers so that a black man could actually dance and even hold the hand of a little white girl AND actually star in a film alongside her . I was raised on these movies and our mother made us wear our hair in Shirley Temple curls, which was misery sleeping in those curlers. On picture day, I was scowling. 😅

Im an old washed-up UnReconstructed Virginian who grew up watching these Shirley Temple movies after Sunday Worship Services, waitin' for Mama to set table for Sunday Dinner. We loved blackfolks & they us. We worked together commercial fishing & respected one another. I wish I was as light on my feet as Bill Robinson was in his prime with little Shirley as his dance partner. It brings tears of joyful fond reflection. You think the SAVIOUR won't get these two to dance, again, at the everlasting celebration in Heaven? I think HE may. My Pappy & his crew will catch some fish to broil for the heavenly hosts to eat while we watch. All of us will be so close to HIM and see HIS smile. Mistrust, segregation, and contention was a Yankee invention forced upon us. They destroyed our culture bc they wd have dominion over all of us - rich, poor, black, white, young, & old. DEO Vindice

I guess ignorance can be anywhere because that is what prejudice really is..ignorance.

In fact the first representative body in America the House of Burgess is at Jamestown past a resolution asking the Virginia Company and King James I to keep the blacks out of Virginia because they did not have The same Outlook and ethics that we did. He was pressured by his Pharisee money lenders who ran the Atlantic slave trade to encourage his settlers going to Virginia to buy an African slave which would help reduce the king's debt to his Pharisee lenders. We come to get along and love the black folks and they us even though most were in bondage. There is no doubt that some blacks were abused by their masters, but for the most part we got along and came to trust one another and have respect for one another and understanding and the blacks were on our side during the revolution the War of 1812 and the war between the states. It wasn't until reconstruction that their pretend friends, the anti-American anti-Constitution abolitionist and their transcendentalist radical Republican Party, by martial law decrees and unilateral enactments of Congress turn most of the blacks against the whites in the south. Nathan Bedford Forest in a speech to the black community said that he came to realize shortly after disbanding his chapter of the ku Klux Klan, that behind every militant black was a conniving liberal white who financed and directed them. Nothing has changed. Black folks and white folks like their own neighborhoods and their own communities and their own families we share a great deal of common heritage formed in our lives alongside one another in America. We had no segregation laws before reconstruction in the south. Most of the northern states forbade blacks to even reside there or to tarry much longer than so many days in transiting through them. White race hustlers do not want the blacks and whites of the South to get along as they once did as we almost escaped their leftist coup during the war between the States. God forbids mixing of the races. No matter what race you are Christ is the common denominator. God seeks obedient from all races and all families of the earth not the mongrelized one world one nation one race b******* that the modern-day Nimrod disciples peddle. The leftist deep state has tried to force race mixing by law and overall it is a dismal failure. Anytime a law has to be enacted for me to like something that I do not like or approve of something that I do not approve then it is an unjust law and repugnant to the law of GOD'S creation. You love your dog and your hamster but you don't try to breed with them do you? You want them to remain as they are and keep their god-given characteristics don't you? Well then why do you approve of race mixing and multiculturalism? Read back in the WORD. Every time God's people practice to multiculturalism and lusting after other nations and mixing their blood and their culture it spelled the downfall for God's people. The same principles hold true today

My mom grew up in the south, my dad was raised in Midwest. I’m lucky neither of them were racially prejudiced. But the could tell sad and terrible stories about it. Teacher, preachers, police, farmers….some were fair and some exploited.
