From their first album with Mike Patton, Epic(got in 88), there was a new thing every time. He could sing this song to totally different like "I started a joke, but the joke was on me". And the rest of the band was also unicie... The best thing as a musician (I'm both a guitar and bass player)is to could just listen to one instrument in that. And so next time listen to another instrument and just that. And so on. Then you realise that every instrument has it's own place in that music number.

This album is amazing and goes so unnoticed after Angel Dust. Don’t get me wrong Angel Dust rules as well, but it’s sad that songs like this one, or King For a Day don’t get recognition.

I waver back and forth on which one I prefer. There's 5 or so songs on King I'd regard as the best in their whole catalogue. (And there's a handful like Evidence that I don't much care for). Whereas Angel Dust doesn't have a weak moment. On balance it's pretty even but if I were trapped on an island for a month with just one album for my coconut ipod, I'd go with KFAD.

I agree, Angel Dust was a revelation when it came out. Don’t think I really got/understood it until years after the fact. My favourite is Smaller and Smaller. On kfad I’m with you as to Evidence being the weakest track. Curious what 4 songs you chose? My top picks from the album would be: Gentle Art of Making Enemies, Cuckoo for Caca, Ugly in the Morning, and King for a Day.
