It's a shame Jim Martin didn't like the music on this record when it's easily still their best album.
@Awesomemusic194 жыл бұрын
This album was so fucking innovative, influential, and waaay ahead of it's time. It's still so fucking crazy to think this was being written and recorded in 91/92 (and right after the real thing, nonetheless.)
@rustyjames17273 жыл бұрын
The music on AD wasn't all that much more weird or out there than their previous 3 albums. I think that Jim might have had an issue with having to pay for all the samples they had on that record. I read somewhere him saying that he thought they should've made their own sounds instead of sampling.

And he was gone a short time later. A lot of fans like angel dust. I think it mostly sucks. I LOVE the real thing. An all time favorite album of mine. They wrote the entire album before mike joined. Mike was an obnoxious clown when he was young and im not sure jim ever liked him. This clip is like the longest ive seen mike go without acting like an idiot. Jim was an old school metal guy on top of it. He loved 80s metallica and thats really what he wanted to be doing. More thrash shit. They got away from that on angel dust. He apparently hated these songs and just didnt want to be involved in it.

@@trenken It would be one thing if Jim left during this time and joined Megadeth or something. Instead, he threw a little pity-party for himself and publicly disparaged one of the most well-regarded and influential albums of all time, then retired from music altogether. Sure, Patton was kind of a douche at the time but Jim just took his ball and went home.

@@trenken they're much closer than I think people thought when this was all fresh. Malpractice, Suprise, Epic, Land of Sunshine, you could swap plenty of the tunes between the two.... these records aren't terribly different. Jim didn't see the next thing coming in 1992. It happens.
