90% of Faith No More shows I see on KZbin they absolutely blow the fucking doors off of the joint. This show is no different obviously. Long live FNM 🤘🏻

This Canadian over in Shanghai now misses FNM so much and I guess that means I miss my youth so much. 4th of July here now and have the day off work. Wonderful to be able to spend it with a band I love so much. Thanks guys and thanks FNM4EVER 2.

The end of 'I Started a Joke' where Mike decides to sing it loud and proud, "The joke was on MEEEEEEE, MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" is truly awesome. It gives me chills each and every time I listen to it.

Propably best version of King for a day. Hands down.

Hands down baby, hands down. 'Please don't let me die with that silly look in your eyes.' BUT their performance of this amazing song in the Netherlands in the same year was also stunning. I think it surprised the band especially near the end of the song. Mike just gives it a shrug at the end, like oh well, I tried man.

Absolutely, they didn't rush the tempo (as they often did with this song) and the outro's atmosphere was fantastic.

Fnm greatest of all time. Glad era to me was there garage sounding days. Very raw and pure. Dean mental a furious guitar player but very sloppy and tended to change the sound of the riff compared to the album. Example is digging the grave. Heavy riff after chorus on album but in concert it was more twangy thus lacking the heavy punch it deserved. I'm sure trey would have been better and stuck to the heaviness of kfad rather than dean bringing sloppy twangy sound. I guess I wasnt a fan of dean mental perhaps that's why they parted. Idk for sure. Yet still the greatest band.

Roddy.. he's admitted he found it extremely difficult playing second guitar to "Digging".. he's simply no guitar player! :D

There’s something about Dean I hate.. cant quite put my finger on what it is
@malmstring3 жыл бұрын
This is the first time I hear Dean and I'm thoroughly impressed. The only flaw I notice is he can't down-stroke riffs like Jim Martin. Both riffing fast and clean on the old songs is an issue here. The old, sort of galloping, thrash metal riffing technique is not natural or easy to a person that hasn't practiced it. It's hard to pull off fast and clean. I actually like Deans Stratocaster sound which has good string separation and elevates licks. It's his own style and he owes it which is a plus. But his guitar setup is on the grungier side and is supposed to blend with the music and create a midrange blanket whereas Jim Martins sound was more sudden brutal distortion (on the thrash side) with some bass and punch which made songs have more of a dynamic range. In guitarist terms, Dean is probably more talented, but I prefer Jim Martins old school heavy metal approach to FNM. It sounded a lot more unique. There really haven't been anything like that lineup before or since.

I think Dean was perfectly proficient playing live for FNM... but Jim I think had a nicer tone and natural flair that was more appealing to listen to than Dean. To my ears anyway.
