YES absolutely Sidemen Crufts!! your own dogs or work with really good dogs that know agility/flyball etc & has come from rescues so it could be different rescues for each team/sidemen competing. Would be so extremely easy to get people to help if they get exposure for their clubs & organisations.

Having a security dog in the hands of Faith who eventually gets bored and lets training slip is a danger to your child. Even getting complacent with toilet training can cause a dog with trained aggression to intruders, to become frustrated and turn fatal. You have a child to consider. Rolo pissing all over the house proves my point. If you can’t look after the horses, all dogs, child and housework, you shouldn’t risk owning a security dog that needs consistency and be top priority. Especially in the first 6 month to a year. You have already admitted to Faith not bothering to get up in the mornings and having to feed the dogs and muck out the horses for her, which is understandable, she has a child to look after, but if this happens when the dog is in her care, it’s frustration could cause a fatal incident. That dog needs 1 primary trainer and feeder, the person it is meant to protect has to do it. Not two people without consistency and routine. Especially as your work schedule means you are away a lot. If she can’t keep up with training you need to hire a professional.

Would she have to train the dog though? Since it is a protection dog it should already be trained well in protection and with that comes other training aswell. Faith will probably take on more responsibility with the dog since it is protecting her and her baby and is already going to be a lot better behaved than Rolo.

No she would not have to train the dog in any regard with protection/intruders. The dog is two years old and should be well established with that. However, other routines like toilet training, feeding, exercise outdoors (German Shepard’s need a lot of daily exercise) if left even now and again, the dog will become frustrated and has a lot of power/aggression trained that could turn to resentment, if other needs aren’t met. It’s such a silly decision I feel, even though I understand she must feel unsafe alone in the house. I wish them the best, I just wouldn’t be able to forgive myself for not trying to advise them that this isn’t just a pet, it’s the real deal and requires work/priority. Olive should be priority and I think that’s why Faith wants the dog, but without proper care, the dog can become an even bigger threat than intruders. I hope they both read this and know it’s not hate, it’s fear! I’m just going off of what they both have said on the podcast. Faith, as long as you promise yourself you can treat the dog with the care and respect it NEEDS, it will love and protect you it’s whole life and will be no cause for concern. If you find you can’t keep up, as a mother putting her daughter first, there is no shame in rethinking. All the best.

Also the dog is most likely toilet trained so there shouldn't be a issue but I do see your concern if anything was to go wrong and the risks

Hopefully all will be ok, it shouldn’t be left to run in a field alone though, they need their protector to be their best friend too. They are still a family member. God I sound like such a Debbie downer. The dog needs a lot of time and effort especially as it’s only two years old. Well established in it’s work but still young. I’ve seen a lot of awful tragedies with security dogs and owners that tried their best but weren’t really ready for such responsibility (that I do not wish on this couple) that would keep most up at night.
