For me, keeping a journal helps me with my mental clarity. Every time I feel like my mind is too cluttered with thoughts, I write them down, and instantly, I feel better. It also helps me track my finances, my days, and my feelings. Through journaling, I am able to assess myself and even be reminded of thoughts I wrote many days ago. Now I realized that we make our own rules when we journal. Whatever works for us is what's important, not what the trends are.

Is journaling like doing diary? I'm kinda confuse ,
@julliereyes214
@julliereyes214 Жыл бұрын
@@royal3161 well if it's journaling itself, it is a diary because I'm just basically writing down anything on my mind like when I was a kid. It's also keeping track of your mental state, your highs or lows, core memories and all. This is what I mostly do with mine. Basically, it's in a narrative form. On the other hand, there's bullet journal wherein, from what I know, is focused on productivity because it's kind of like a checklist of your regular activities, goals, events, etc. So the key there is you list them down in bullets so you can clearly see what you need to accomplish in a certain period of time. Like a to do list. This is how I understand it, at least.
@julliereyes214
@julliereyes214 Жыл бұрын
@@royal3161 also, there's art journal -- which I also like but I can't fully commit to it lol cause I won't be consistent about it. Instead of using a lot of words, the journal notebook is often filled with artworks, collage, sketches, etc. Like expressing your thoughts in colors and shapes. I believe this would look phenomenal when compiled.

The power of writing is always prominent. When we write, we get slow in thoughts. As a result, we can do self reflection and process our emotions step by step.

I started journaling at 8 and I’m now 23 and I’ve filled/finished journal #63!! Finishing a full journal is an amazing feeling and being able to look back on so much of my life is so special. I love journaling more than I can say and I think it’s something everyone should at least try in their lifetime It’s so rewarding

What do you write about in your journals?
@baileyspeltbeefy1768
@baileyspeltbeefy1768 2 жыл бұрын
@@monia8486 absolutely anything and everything!!! I write about my day and what all happened, my thoughts and feelings, and even like little lists, plans, shows I like and am watching and just stuff like that I also add in a lot of photos and some of them I write a whole entry about and I write about my loved ones and dogs A LOT! Honestly if someone ever read my journals they would know everything about me, my life, and those in my life and how things are between me and said person because I’m also extremely detailed in all journals. I’ve also noticed that as I get older the things I journal about and just how I journal changes... usually within a few years if I look back I can see subtle changes and stuff but when I look back at my first journal to my journal now it’s just crazy! I can also really see how much my handwriting, spelling, and the way I think/express myself has greatly improved. I also keep a dream journal but it’s separate from my like everything/personal journal I hope this helps to answer the question☺️

@baileyspeltbeefy1768 2 жыл бұрын
@@monia8486 I’m glad it helped and I hope you love journaling!! I still remember my first journal and when I came to the end I was honestly so emotional Of course all your journals are so special and precious but the feeling of writing and filling up your very first journal is just amazing☺️ Also I’m not sure if this is something you would like to do/try out or if you already do it but at the very beginning of all my journals is a little about me section (My name, journal name, relationship/relationship status, bday and age, best friend, and pets/furbabies I currently have and more) I really love it and you can always add in more or add in your own but I think it’s really cool and helpful to see what changes and what stays the same in the about me’s throughout the years! Also for the last 1+ pages I put a A title on top of the page called “Important dates” and I than use that page to write the date of important entries and a little description of what that entry is about and I usually need 1-3 of these pages but it varies lol For an example of how it works I would write “July 13,2022: went on a mini road trip with my family” The reason I love doing this in the last page or last few is because when I’m reading back I can look there and easily find the “best” entries/days or if I am looking for a certain entry to reread this make it so much easier to find!

I write my thoughts and feelings, stuff about video games and books, music, about me and what I like and don’t like etc. I love having one journal with everything in it and decorating it using cute stickers, doodles and drawings. journaling has helped me get my thoughts out and finding words to describe what’s wrong even when I don’t really know myself, and I just love how writing can help a person so much

I started journaling in a way to document. I've lost a lot of memories over the years because of mental struggles and life changes that happened rapidly. In a sense I lost a lot of myself when I lost those moments. Now I journal so I won't forget. I also want to start vloging for myself, again in a way to document and remember.

Wow I feel less alone. I only started journaling recently and what you said is the main reason. Im keeping a "reflections on the past" journal for when I suddenly remember an anecdote, and just to try to make sense of my past, and how I want to change accordingly. I try to look at it positively and see journaling (the one I keep for the present) as a way to really start to live, not start a new life but start living mine.

I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I’ve had to overhaul how I approach taking care of my brain (journaling) by practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 50-60% effort into my journaling habit - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on YT. Because historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up.

i love the "bedside journal"!! i used to think that i could only use one journal at a time; one journal for all my thoughts and emotions. i'd find myself having some realization right before going to bed and not writing it down because i didn't want to get my journal from my desk. i think keeping an "off the rails" bedside journal can help me use my other journals and express myself even more on paper :))

I started journaling when I was about 17 on and off. Then when I was 18 in my final year of high school I started being more committed to it because there were a lot of things going on in my life and also a lot of feelings. Initially it all started because I considered the possibility that I might have amnesia at some point in my life and wanted to tell all about me to my future self with "the books of my life". Eventually journaling evolved into being more conscious, facing feeling and events I can't talk about, not playing the victim and being honest with myself. I always buy very big and thick blank pages journals, and reading them really feels like reading a book from my life. I'm 23 now, 24 in 13 days, and I'm at my 7th life book. I'm so glad I found this corner of KZbin.

I don’t know if you’ll see this, but how I tackled the bujo vs digital planner dilemma is by making a picture of my monthly and weekly overview and put those in a note in my phone, updating them when I write in a new appointment. In that same note I put things / appointments I made that I still have to write in my physical bujo. So everything is updated in that note so I never miss someting I planned and still do not have to have my journal on me 24/7. Maybe you or someone also likes this solution :) works great for me as I do still love bullet journaling.
