Hard to believe this year I turned 55 years old... It just goes to show that age is just a number. Because being a DJ for over 35 years and counting, I absolutely love this track! I was cranking it up in the clubs, I was always watching people who were going crazy dancing to this. Other people would ask me... "How can you get excited about a song that barely has any vocal tracks and is just a bunch of synthesizer...?" I tell them it's not about that. You have to feel the energy and what it's bringing to you. I told them to imagine that for a little more than 8 minutes, you own the world, there's no rules, there's no laws and you're creating your own personal euphoria! (Ecstasy optional) 😄 Then I play the song at the end of the night as the last song... Then they "get it!" Absolutely timeless hit!

When people ask me why I prefer the instrumentally-focused music, not just music like this but also in the case of music from videogames, I often tell them that when there are little to no vocals, it allows you to focus more on the melody and rhythm, and that allows me to appreciate the compositional skill that went into making the song, and therefore the quality of the composition itself. Anyone could make words and put it over an endlessly repeating 8 note melody, but it takes real skill to please the listener with just the music.

Miles’ Children were not to my liking- found it nice but boring. Insomnia is purely explosive energy. Sash! Encore une fois is somewhat similar sound, but again slightly boring. I think by how core Insomnia is, there is nothing really on same shelf. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying it’s the best track of all time, but in terms of what it’s packing as universal dance track it’s quite surely scoring high in every category. At least to my taste :)

The best pop/dance act ever.....thanks to ROLLO !!!! Faithless is a British dance act, formed around producer Rollo (real name Rowland Armstrong), keyboardist / DJ Sister Bliss (real name Ayalah Bentovim) and rapper / singer Maxi Jazz (real name Maxwell Fraser), and until 2006 bassist Aubrey Nunn. In addition, producer / singer Jamie Catto (until 1999; later active with his project 1 Giant Leap) and guitarist Dave Randall have been part of Faithless. Singer Dido, Rollo's sister, can be heard on several Faithless songs. The group quit in 2011, but performed again in 2015 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The name Faithless 2.0 was used for these performances. Faithless's music is usually a mix of trip hop, progressive trance, hip hop, pop, club and regularly various other styles. The line-up of Faithless consists of guitarists and drummers, among others, instead of, for example, just a DJ with a singer. This composition is rare in dance music.

They are all so different in their own right, but yet as one collaborative family, they cannot be touched in the time they spent destroying dance floors all over the world.
