It's interesting how sons and mothers bond. I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong) back when Native American Indians were in tribes they would send their son's far away in the lands alone. Not only for spiritual guidance and finding their name due to hallucinations of possible dehydration, but to break the son's dependency on the tribe, but more notably the mother as a process of growing up and putting your childhood behind officially. Don't get me wrong, healthy relationships with parents are vital when growing up and now a days as they shape who you are, but, the question is what happens when that maturity is never reached and your parents die? From what I observed, the maturity practices are breaking and people are still being immature as time progresses as shown from this time. We have the solution, good & strict parents, proper role models when young, being independent, and a good moral compass, but how can we apply that now when it's essentially falling apart today? Is there any way we can reestablish this? Let me know your thoughts below.
@Societyman1234 жыл бұрын
Logic and understanding, instead of being overly strict we raise our children to be fair and wise. Set an example by listening to them and building up how they think, acknowledge their logic but help them see where they are sometimes wrong. Perhaps children are not as logical as I think but these are my thoughts discord.gg/3GXkdCb

That problem has always been around, at least here in the US. There have always been negligent parents, abusive parents, permissive/enabling parents, all sorts of negative parenting that would stunt a child's emotional and social maturation. I think the difference is, in the past parenting standards were held up to stricter standards, and a young adult's conduct was kept in check by the larger society around them. Society would act as a surrogate parent of sorts, by shaming someone who hadn't grown up fast enough. As our society more deconstructs what is considered ethical behavior, more and more becomes permissible. Being a boomerang kid or porn addict is seen as less shameful now in the cultural zeitgeist. The larger solution? I don't know. The smaller solution is what you as a parent can do in your own personal sphere of influence.
