@@ninaballerina2807 The origins of the name "Narcissism" does come from the Greek myth of "Narcissus", but I have zero clue why you think the details of an ancient myth have any bearing on the weight of the modern psychological definition. The modern definition of Narcissistic Personality Disorder(NPD) is summarized by this excerpt from the Mayo clinic: "Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them. People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence, they are not sure of their self-worth and are easily upset by the slightest criticism." It fits with the original myth, it fits with the Doctor in the video, and, if you pay attention, it doesn't say that NPD predisposes a patient to violent behavior but instead that it can make other's needs seem lesser than your own. Individuals with NPD are slightly more likely to be aggressive or even violent, but violence is not a primary determinative factor in diagnosing NPD. The only one robbed of rationale and dealing in pseudo-knowledge is you.

He should also have had the diagnosis of psychopath as he could kill his entire family, including small children, without compunction. The symptoms of psychopathology are lying, manipulating and hurting others, exhibiting behavior that is in conflict with social norms, and difficulty showing empathy or remorse. He just ticks off all those boxes. It’s frightening how he could pull off all of those lies for two decades, fooling his whole family, and his best friend and his wife. Well whether or not he's diagnosed, he is who he is. We live in a society where ***most individuals are intrigued and drawn in by what they think they know/they're conveniently told, can see and is shown (emphasis on can) in and about others. The whole purpose of unity and having whatever connection (on any level) is to know. #period If you (as in anyone) would rather see and accept what they're superficially told and shown, that's on you. Not that it's anyone's place to bombard and investigate another in an attempt to be steps ahead or as a means to align themselves with whomever in order to benefit (as such iniatives often times can and will be deceiving), just as it was in this case.

But narcissistic PD also has a lack of empathy. But anyway, psychiatry doesn't formally recognize psychopathy as a disorder or even a clinical entity. So if they ask a psychiatrist, he's compelled to diagnose something within the accepted norms of his profession (i'm a psychiatrist). And since all psychopaths are narcissists, but not all narcissists are psychopaths, it kind of works out. None of this really matters bc neither a narcissist or a psychopath will change, there is no therapy for it. Technically, it is possible to change narcissism with therapy but practically, they will never actually engage in it.

I think technically that would make him a sociopath. Psychopaths have no emotion, have a lot of self confidence and don't feel any guilt (if I recall). Sociopaths generally only care about themselves and are very manipulative, yes, but they're not very self confident, and do still feel emotions like fear and so on. A lot of them are cowards on the inside. The fact he always tried to kill people from behind, (and gave up on killing the one woman he attacked from the front) and also how he murdered the dog so his daughter would "have the dog with her in heaven" tells me there was still a certain level of emotional attachment left in this guy. This guys life was based around fear and laziness, whereas a psychopath wouldn't give those things a second thought.

@BattleBladeWarrior If only we would keep things simple, just as they are. We are all sinners - given to lying, fear, shame, stealing, concealing or covering up...etc. obvious sins that manifest themselves in childhood itself - right away showing that each one of us are susceptible to committing greater misdeeds or crimes. However, groeing up, it does not take long to discern those that may be disciplined, corrected and trained into goodness and those that will relentlessly persist in their waywardness so as to choose rather to move from inherent sinfulness to increasing depravity; in other words from a mere Sinner to an unrepentant Wicked. And, yes, should one inquire as to the moral standards by which we me discern or judge ourselves: It is the surpassing Righteousness of God alone and not the semblance of vacillating virtues men advocate.

With parole means you are eligible for parole, which only means that a parole board can grant parole. If parole isn' t granted, one stays in prison and applies again until one dies or is granted parole, whichever comes first. If parole is granted, then one's life is supervised by a parole officer until one dies. 5 murders is a lot,but france might have in its law that the purpose of prison is rehabilitation, not retaliation or punishment.

31:56. Well Padre, our earthly laws are to be followed as gods law if you actually read the Bible. Also, father kid toucher, sensible punishments for murders are supposed to speed up that meeting between him and God. After all, God is quite busy and it’s best to expedite that process so he can handle it more quickly for us rather than him kill more innocent people. Capital punishment is the only answer for cold blooded murder

Well they weren't worth much to him if he could annihilate every inch (starting from his biological parents to his immediate family) the minute he came up with the "idea". Words and titles really can't speak on behalf of most folk and how they truly feel about those that they call family. As most just use the above as hangers in their life. As it seemed (based on how the story was told), that all of these indivoduals were just placement (no different than place mats at a table) for this mf. Something that isn't foreign behavior, that most seem to realize 20, 30, 40 years too late.

Allowed to live his life when he killed so many others?!?!. He’s only 65 years old. Unbelievable miscarriage of justice if you ask me. The man is definitely not a different human. His kids will NEVER grow up, get married, have children and possibly long wonderful lives of their own all because he was worried about what they would think of HIM. He can't get any of that back for them, so 26 years is enough redemption to the courts? He killed all of those DEFENSELESS people and they let him out of JAIL? HOW?! I hadn't heard it before either but it's popped up a few times in the comments for this video. I think it refers to how quickly people can slip into worse behaviour when they're already willing to start off by lying. Obviously it depends on how much they lie to start off with. Most people tell little lies all the time, whether it is to avoid explaining a complicated situation or to save someone else's feelings. But there are some who easily fall into deception and from there all bets are off. My son's father was one of these people. He presented himself as very charming and personable but he couldn't say 3 sentences without 2 of them being lies. I was fortunate to not have any further contact with him not long after I had my son. But I heard he had been deported from my country after nearly killing one of the other women he had been scamming. He had originally come to my country by marrying another lady to get citizenship here after he had killed his brother with a spear gun in his own homeland (I think his motive was to keep all the proceeds of a business agreement they had gotten into). When my son was 12 years old we were contacted by his father's family via Facebook to inform us that his father had been killed by a nephew who was a policeman in his home country. Because of the corruption there the nephew was never arrested. I wasn't surprised he died in such a violent way, you can't live a life of lies, theft and violence without it catching up with you. Well, maybe not in France😅😅😅😂😂😂😂 Also, I didn't find out most of this till after I was pregnant. I was lucky to not have had a such a bad experience (other than obviously having to raise my son on my own). I'm actually friends with his wife and the woman he got together with when he returned to his own country! My son has a half sister with her. Life is strange! But yes, he certainly showed 'if you lie, you'd steal, if you'd steal, you'd kill'.

I can't believe he got out of prison. What the actual fuck? He murdered his parents, wife and children in cold blood, after spending decades deceiving and robbing people, and they think he is safe to be in society. Again, wtf? This story reminded me of the guy who murdered his whole family and they weren't found for a month. In the mean time he ran away, created a new life and identity, got married and had kids and wasn't found until a few decades later. Even when his crimes were uncovered, his "new" family defended him because they thought he was a great guy. I'm sorry (not sorry) but if you can plan and commit the murders of the people you are supposed to love, you are not a good person and need to be locked up for the rest of your life so society is safe from you.

No, a man like that should never be let out of prison. What is wrong with the justice system?

5 murders, attempted murder, possibly murdered one that was never investigated, murdered the family pet, swindled over one million dollars and ….. HE’S OUT 😱 Under the right circumstances this narcissistic pathological lier will kill again.

In the same spirit, you have Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, a man suspected of killing his whole family and dog in 2011, I say suspected because he is still running and search to this day. His wife, four children and dog were found one day buried in the backyard in the city of Nantes. I think that making a video on him would be a nice thing, to help shine a little light on the man so he could be apprehended one day and judged.

What a monster, willing to kill his own family, to cover up his lies, but is not willing die. It would've been more understandable if he committed a murder suicide, not that it's any better, but at least, he was ready to join them in the afterlife, but this one, it's like he sacrificed his loved ones, people who trusted him, to save himself, that is just so evil.

That’s what this type of lying lifestyle leads to. When a person gets so deep into lying and continually conjures up more and more lies, they start killing. That movie, “The Talented Mr. Ripley” is a good illustration.

If he did this in the United States either he would be in prison for life or he would be executed. It all depends on the state he committed the crime in. I can't believe the minimal amount of time he got in France.

That's one good thing about the US: that life sentences can be stacked, i.e. he could have been sentenced for each of his crimes.
