Excellent report well done and thank you. We need more exposure for 'real' Russians and the suffering they have and will continue to go through under the current regime

What I find interesting is that Putin made the appearance with these women in the first place. Let's leave aside that it was carefully choreographed and the women were carefully chosen props for a transparent propaganda piece. Why address it in the first place? What were they trying to accomplish? Why now? Anya made a good point: the (authentic) reaction is on the internet, not on the streets. Therein lay the reasons, in my opinion. That reaction is beginning to cause trouble. This was an attempt to deal with it, before it gets to the streets. There are very few ways Russians can call out the massive failures of what passes for their government. Typically, resistance is met with intimidation, beatings, imprisonment - Russians have no voice in any way that really matters. A lot of work goes into keeping things that way. TV Rain driven out of Russia is a good example. Mollifying the masses was the point of this cartoonish presentation. It was done because the usual methods that Putin's government employs to suppress dissent would backfire. The hammer won't work this time. Beating, jailing and intimidating grieving mothers cannot be spun, no matter how good the propaganda, no matter how compromised the courts. But the anger is growing. So, if not the policeman's baton, then what? To address it, they attempted to show a concerned President, surrounded by heroic mothers of the fallen, presenting touching stories of the valor of their sons and husbands. The President tells them their sons' sacrifice gave meaning to their ordinary, unremarkable, obscure lives. And as degradingly insulting as that is, the hypocrisy is dwarfed only by the sham of faux concern. As a piece of theatre, the women did fine, Putin fell flat. So, yes, Anya, is right. The honest reaction is out there. It is gaining momentum. As an outsider, I can only hope that someday it will lead to accountability for those who have thrown away the lives and fortunes of thousands for personal gain, like this self-obsessed old man who pretends to care in one breath, and orders more death in the next. Thank you for your reporting, TV Rain. Please, continue speaking.

TV Rain has been caught red-handed helping the occupiers! What can be better than that! Another TV Rain anchorman stated in Russian the following: "We hope that we were able to help many [Russian] servicemen with, for example, kitting up and getting minimal conveniences at the frontline, because the stories provided by relatives strike horror."

There's nothing wrong with caring for your countrymen. A reporter is also different than a political activist. The fact that you expect all of them to be the latter (which most of them actually happen to be) just show how confused you are.

Even the word 'caught" sounds ridiculous. Do you really think a host would admit a crime (real support for Russian army) live on television? They collected stories about bad attitude to Russian soldiers from the Russian government in order to urge Russian citizens to avoid the army. The host tried to encourage citizens to send more such stories and chose very bad words for it promising that by elucidating such situations they would help soldiers. The host was fired. The Rain TV apoligized, and in fact has been condemning the war from the February 24 in every piece of their broadcasting.

@@Засильеправды-с7н Wait, why was the host fired then and what did TV Rain apologize for?
@Засильеправды-с7н2 жыл бұрын
@@allydea A host uses a wording which distorts the policy of a TV channel and damages its reputation. The TV management apologizes for the host's behavior, explains that the host's words do not reflect its vision and fires the host. What illogical and strange do you see in this chain of events? Yes, "there is nothing wrong in caring for your countrymen", but the host chose an extremely bad wording that makes the audience to wrongly believe that the TV Rain collects material help for the Russian army.

I enjoy TVRain but have no comprehension of why you would adapt as logo for your station a “sexual-minority” flag as what you stand for?? I can’t agree with that.
@MelioraCogito2 жыл бұрын
That you can't comprehend why TV//Rain is standing up for the rights of persecuted people, regardless of their ethnicity, religious beliefs or sexual preference is revealing of who you are. Why do you care what adults do in the privacy of their own bedrooms? Spare me a false equivalence of homosexuality=paedophilia bull faeces-the overwhelming reality is, the majority of paedophiles self-identify as heterosexual. Let me be clear: paedophilia committed by ANYONE (regardless of their self-identified sexuality) is a crime. The reveal in your comment is that it seems to me you're insecure about your own sexuality; you're a voyeur fantasising about peering through windows into the bedrooms of the nation, struggling with the cognitive dissonance it gives you as you desperately try to hold on to your masculinity. Showing rainbow symbology in support of a persecuted minority (or raising a generation to respect people for who they are) is not forcing someone's sexual preferences upon anyone-least of all you. If you're comfortable with who you are, then why should a rainbow offend you? (It offends you precisely _because_ you are not comfortable with who you are.) It's not like it's forcing you to become what you [seemingly] don't want to be-though it seemingly must intrigue you to elicit such a disgusted response. No one can force a heterosexual to become gay anymore than you could force a gay person to become heterosexual-that's not how nature works; it's not a "choice". Make no mistake, homosexuality is as "natural" as heterosexuality is. Just because it's not conducive to genetic reproductive survival doesn't make it "unnatural"-the fact that it manifests itself from heterosexual coupling only reinforces its "natural" nature. Grow the f%ck up and learn to live and let live. A rainbow isn't going to turn you (or force you) to become gay. Get over yourself.
