So, to those of you who are so lazy to watch the 15-minute long video, the differences are: 1) IR blaster hole vs dummy hole 2) Thin bezel vs thick bezel therefore smaller display size on the fake one 3) Blue tint light reflection on original display 4) High resolution display vs very low resolution 5) Missing some original softwares or they got titled differently 6) Different UI layout after holding down the home button - scrolling up+down vs rows 7) Different link destinations when tapping on Samsung Hub app or browser / interet icons 8) Installing any app from Google Play Store will throw up error on the fake S4 - meaning: you're fcked 9) Fake S4 has both front & back camera just like the original one but fake S4 DOES NOT have dual camera feature. 10) Fake S4 does not have autofocus. it has fixed focus only. so, tap to focus doesnt work on fake S4. 11) 13 MP (autofocus) vs 5 MP (fixed focus) back camera The quickest way to spot fake S4 is to look at the bezel & the IR blaster hole.

Thanks for the great video showing many of the differences between a fake and an original SG4. Three other differences that I heard about are that the bezel on the original seems to be more of a smoked metal color. The LED flash on the original is more of a white color whereas it appears to be more yellowish on the fake. On a fake phone, the Samsung logo on the back might be more depressed whereas on the original phone, the Samsung logo on the back is flush with the surrounding material.

When a friend of mine bought an fake Samsung S4 he received the original accessories, so it's not something to lead you on (the package or the accessories).From what it looks from the video, the white S4 (fake one) has better screen than the other one... doesn't matter, the fake phones varies and doesn't have the same tricky things, it could have completely other ones too.

I'm so happy....I got a real one! At first I thought I had a fake one but then I checked the software and set -up and its real. I successfully bought one. I've got a real boy. Fake Samsung's don't load all of the software or take you through proper google and samsung set up. Also if your software loads as 9500 instead of 95005 it's fake. Stock android means fake! I'm so happy right now!

Quite a good deal you got there. Such a genuine copy of Samsung S4. But, apart from that, you missed the main point of distinction. Android is quite customizable(the task manager in fake one is from Gingerbread). And getting those customizations is not difficult. So, you should just check the about menu in settings and check the processor and RAM. It won't take more then a second to recognize an original and fake mobile. No need to spend 15min in finding all those minute differences. ;))

The simple method to decide between is to look at the sleep state screen and the original has a metalic blue shinyness, another next step is to just point near the lock screen and should react and show even when we have our fingers several mm from the touchscreen ...no need further exams :)

The real S4 does not have an IPS LCD display as stated in the video. It's a Super HD AMOLED display. Other than that, good video.

Yeah no, mine had the "Fake" box but real headphones and real charger. Checked with 2 apps and one flat out stated it was a real GT-i9500 and the other read the stats which matched. The screen tint is a good indicator as it should be blue-ish. It had all of the Samsung bloatware which works, correct names of apps. Just buy from a trusted company and you should be fine.

My mums fake Samsung S4 has Sansung Apps, Duel Camera and all the correct names and apps. The only way I was able to tell my mother's Samsung S4 was fake was the Custom Chinese bootmenu that you can force pop-up after you encrypt the device using a password instead of a pin or shape screen unlock. I believe our device has the actual Samsung Android OS running but is using a bootloader to use the Samsung branded OS.

Someone tried to sell me a fake s4 and i was able to detect that is fake by performing some benchmark tests like quadrant and antutu. Both programs showed that the device has a 720p display and 1.6 quadcore cpu (i couldnt find exynos or snapdragon keywords in the hardware info but they displayed a fake gpu vendor and fake number of cpu cores 4+4 which looked like original). The results are 4 times smaller than the original s4 which scores 16K in quadrant while the fake one scores 4k in the best case. Anyway your review also shows some good ways to differenciate the fake s4 but you talked too much about the similarities in my opinion.

easiest way to tell whether a s4 is fake is at the back where in the flash is placed at the fake one the flash is really yellow. the real one has only a darker yellow touch

I've the original S4 with me ...smart stay function is always on in my device as it consumes no battery when screen is off but the "eye Icon" in the notification panel isn't continuously showing as I've seen videos on KZbin even when you are not using any specific apps, but in my case it comes when my screen is going to off and check whether I'm seeing it or not and again it goes

open "about device" on setting. you could find the difference between the version and build number. for example the version is 4.2.2 but the build code is gingerbread which is only v2.3 on the fake one

Hey man, I've got one but there is a mixture of things from both phones, for example, I have a legit IR blaster, the app is called 'video' , and when I press the home button the apps that are open come up exactly as the real one. However, the main problem is the camera issue, It only goes up to 8 mega pixels and I cannot get dual camera working. I am unsure, some advice would be helpful. Thank you.

The difference u c here wnt b there on other fake S4,but u can c the difference in camera ,you need to see for resolution settings(i.e. 8 mp res and 5 mp res),thats where you can see difference,otherwise everything will be look alike.i personally have seen that.luckily i noticed.

my girlfriend switched from an iPhone 4s to the samsung galaxy s4 and after the first week of owning it said that she missed her iPhone. with an iPhone you are paying for quality as well as prestige with an android you are paying for an over-sized piece of plastic with hardware that will outdated within four months (and still isn't as smooth running or as fast as an iPhone.one look at android 1.00 and anyone will notice the direct 'inspiration' from ios.
