Fake Spyderco 😢

Recently, I purchased what I thought was a Spyderco Delica 4. It turned out be a counterfeit. In this short video I highlight some of the features that helped me recognize that this knife was a forgery.

I just found one on the Walmart website. Whether it’s a fake or whether the seller will simply rip you off is the question. A Shaman for $90. “Fiberglass” handle (another description version says G-10). No mention of blade metal. No mention of lock type. Seller has terrible reviews. Good luck…

I've had a bunch of the Byrd brand Spyderco copy knives for quite a few years and they have served me well while being very inexpensive... I had read somewhere that they were in fact made by Spyderco as a economy option but cannot confirm that.

Yes, Byrd knives are a Spyderco budget brand. They are of good quality and priced nicely.

I carry a Delica 4 Superblue for my EDC. I also work in Golden, Colorado U.S.A. Earth, so I am biased.

I have a lot of knives, but three of my Spydercos are my normal EDCs: Chinook 3, Manix 1, and Lava.
