It's the saftey lock. Picked one up, brand new, off the shelf, to check it out. It didn't work. Never been fired outta the factory. Straight off the shelf. Showed the salesman, he was baffled. Didn't rotate the cylinder, when cocked, single action, didn't rotate the cylinder , double action. Total P.O.S.. No good.

And that kids is why we teach height over bore. Hes too close and his optic is (likely) zeroed either 25 or 50 yards. Because of that, he needs to aim hugher with his optic to get true boresight alignment to target OR, cant the firearm and use barrel as an aiming device. Typically only do that with rifles when firing less than 3 yards away tho.

Everything you said is spot on. I've been carrying a Buck 102 now since 1967. The first one used used a lot until 1999, when my truck was broken into and it was among the stuff that was stolen. They didn't get much, it worn down pretty thin by then. My wife bought me a new one in Christmas 1999, and it's been with me ever since. When I say with me, I mean really, it's my EDC carry. When I retired in 2001, and we moved to Texas, it was on my hip everyday since that is not only legal here, but not even looked at twice. I've never liked folders, especially locking folders like the Buck 110, because I've seen a couple bad incidents where a lock didn't hold up to insane trust and the user got bit bad. If my little keychain penknife won't handle it, it's time for a fixed blade. Like the 102. Like you said, it's soooo light, I don't even notice it behind my right hip, and the sheath rides high enough that it doesn't to hang up on the car seat. But in my retirement I do a lot of fishing with my friends on the banks of the San Gabriel river, and the 102 makes a fine trout and bird knife. Thats 57 years of one brand and model of knife. The only complaint I had was the handle got slippery when wet. So I roughed it up with some 80 grit sandpaper in a swirl pattern, and it fixed it great, no matter water, food stuff or fish slime.

“Air-weight in .357 Mag/ .38 SP”. Tried that once, and got smarter, thanks to Rhett Neumayer (Demonstrated Concepts). It’s one of the reasons why I carry a LCR in .22 LR and a Taurus 942 in .22 Mag. Both very light, both a pleasure AND cheap to shoot all day. Near non-existent recoil make them accurate as any short barreled revolver could be. Plus you get 2-3 extra cartridges (8 shot cylinders rock!).

Super pretty where is that?
@JackAsinus13 күн бұрын
You are correct. A snub nose revolver is not the appropriate choice to run combat drills or to get you through an actual combat situation. It is ideally suited for what it was designed for. It's a non descript surgical tool designed to be kept in concealment until it surprises the attacker and you can extricate yourself from the poor situation. I've not needed anything larger than my SP101 through all my years in Chicago.

I played paintball my childhood and into young adult hood. It went from pump action only with 10 to 15 rd feed sticks, to semi auto with 200 round hoppers and eventually electronics made it so those 200 paintballs can be fed and fired at 15 to 30 shots per second.. even with people having 190 more shots, and rate of fire 15x more then me, using a pump action I still do very well, often dominating games... how? Well superior firepower does help, all it takes in paintball is 1 shot. I usually hit people in their mask (as they look out to shoot, and to prevent wiping off paint as easily) .. tldr even vastly outgunned I dominated thru better technique, and more well placed shots. Others relied on "spray and pray" tactics, while I made every shot count. I follow active self protection, and 3 days ago a former argentine soldier defended himself from car jacking with 5 shot j frame vs armed car jackers (2 jackers +1 getaway driver) he hit 2. Killed the 1 with a gun going for his wife in car forcing all 3 to flee or perish... another case a CCW in LA gets attempted robbed by two muggers, and the ccw guy throws his tea in the guys face and draws his glock 26.. he fired off 8 of his 10 rounds, hit no one, and they fled.. both successfully defended themself. But one made sure at least 1 robber will never come back to rob him or anyone again. When you have 5, or 6, or 8 etc in a revolver you tend to train with it and make sure to make the shots count.

It’s funny that people are against the 301 because at the time this was made it was built in china while you’re buying all your stuff at Walmart that’s made in china. The gun still needs to meet US standards. It’s a single shot. It doesn’t require a bunch of physics to create.

Great video and even better timing for me. As a British shooter (hold the jokes), we get a lot of rifles later it seems. Almost nowhere is showing stock of the Gen II. I've been looking at the Gen I. Time for me to start asking questions and seeing if we can get one sourced at my local gun shop.

The whole reason I started looking at .22 revolvers was their ability to shoot shorts or 'quiet' ammunition. I watch all those videos of stores getting looted in the big cities, and I thought what if they had a revolver shooting shorts and aimed for the hip?
