There were a few comments under the vid questioning the truthfulness of the story and had searched google and found no info on the case being discussed. An overwhelming amount of people were talking about how disgusting the grandmother was and how could she have gotten away with this for so long. Ahh! None of these people exist! Im a real person who has sickle cell anemia and seeing people lie about having it is sick, this illness is no joke, just pain and agony most of the time so I can’t imagine faking such a terrible illness Edit: FYI 80%-90% of people that have sickle cell anemia are black, there’s a very small chance that someone any other ethnicity could have sickle cell. Also you can’t just develop sickle cell, you’d have to be born and diagnosed with it. I’ve been struggling with this illness for my whole life but soon there will be a cure.

Wait they're close to finding a cure???? That's amazing! We learnt about sickle cell anaemia in bio and nursing school and it really is a horrible condition. I wonder if it's similar enough to Thalassemia and a cure is on the horizon for that too. My family is Greek and Thalassemia got its name from the Greek word for "sea" as Thalassemia is mostly found in Greece and other Mediterranean countries. I'm lucky that my parents don't have the gene or condition so my brother and I are safe but I do have relatives with it and like Sickle Cell anaemia, the life expectancy isn't long even with management. I really hope the cure for Sickle Cell is found and released soon!

One is a bone marrow transplant that includes chemo and which is also the cure that I’m hoping to get this summer even though it’s a six month process but I do have a bone marrow donor who is my sister, and the second potential cure is a stem cell transplant!

What I hate most in fake content is these people who pretend to have physical or mental illness for clout. Especially since it makes it harder for people who actually have the issue to get treatment, and sometimes the way they pretend their fake illness is misleading or even insulting.

At least their "pranks" weren't extremely harmful to people and they didn't harass their "victims" the way these KZbinrs do. And them genuinely being friends made for an entertaining dynamic to watch, something that prank KZbinrs didn't have. Edit: I took a quick look into it and it's not completely staged. Some clever editing which teenage me already knew was a thing and the punishments are obviously planned but not everything they do is staged. Besides, they only unblur faces of people they interact with and even then not all of them so if you know anything about the process of filming shows or movies, then it's obvious that after the prank, the production team is going to those people, explaining what's happening and asking for their consent to show their face on TV. Even the cast of a show or movie sign these consent forms, at least that's how it works in my country.
