I think that apple should allow you to uninstall any apps that you aren't going to use. every single app is another point of failure for hackers. not many people, especially privacy-minded people would never use ANY smart home products, so it's a simple thing that could be deleted. stocks, news, facetime, apple maps, apple mail, shortcuts, apple music, all these apps could be deleted IMO.

Linux can get malware too if you're still not careful, there's malware that disguises as cookies and browser extensions, if you run Windows malware in WINE you'll still be infected, and there are malware targeting Linux directly every now and then. My Raspberry Pi actually got hacked a few years ago because I forgot to change the default password on a remote desktop application. And if someone actually targets you for some reason, I doubt OS will matter, at that point it's up to your awareness on exploits and security practice for that OS. If you're overconfident and not careful, even your Linux system can get hacked @@omega3fatass61​

The Android attacks were all about tricking the user to install malicious applications, something you can do on any Turing-complete machine if the user's gullible enough. The iOS attack mentioned was a zero-click, a chained set of unpatched CVEs that guarantee access to the victim's system without any interaction from them. You're comparing apples to oranges. In terms of zero-click CVEs, I recall Pegasus has some for both, so it's equivalent, except that Android devices reply on the manufacturer to ship the patch, so it may take longer or never be shipped.
