I loved Alice, to the point that I had the same hairstyle 😂 And I've only seen the first movie, because I hated it, loved the books but movie wasn't for me. But have you read 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner'? It was my favourite from all Twilight books, I haven't read it in years, but I remember it being the darkest and most violent. Of course it's not a good book in any way, shape or form but I remember enjoying it. But as we speak of Meyer's books, 'The Host' was way better. At least from what I remember, but it's sci-fi/romance.

Forks Washington is in a temperate Rainforest. A lot of tree cover even if the sun does appear, which it does. The area is known to have more overcast days than Berlin Germany and the highest rain per year in the Continental US, thus excluding the portion of this same rainforest in Southern Alaska or any tropical islands which have been taken as US territories or States, which means it is not sunny very often. One of the prettiest places you can be when it is sunny, never mind sparkly undead teenagers... All that moss and lichen, everything practically glows green. So many nursery logs and important mycelium species. The largest living organism on earth is not near forks but Northern Oregon... Just South of Washington State. This vast mycelium network lives not too far from where it they filmed the thing. It was not filmed in Forks. Eliza is better than the original, Eliza seems capable of closing her mouth all the way. Something the actress in twilight seemed to struggle with somehow. We don't even have real wolves in the area anymore, and the last time a mated pair strayed south into Washington State from Canada they were killed quite brutally despite being a protected species. Very sad. They killed the mother wolf. 😢

i recently rewatched twilight for the first time in years. and yes, it's problematic in some aspects and honestly both edward and jacob went on my f*ing nerves so much... but honestly, i really don't get all the twilight hate. or rather: i don't get why it's this specifically that's being used as the prime example for a "bad story" in memes etc. There is so many worse, more problematic popular stories with a similar target group that nobody really bats an eye about. And it a) is entertaining b) has a female main character that knows what she wants and fights for it c) actually shows relationship development and communication [even if not the best] d) wasn't written by a terf [not that stephenie meyer isn't problematic - or probably at least somewhat queerphobic, but at least she doesn't actively spread hate... the bar is low nowadays..]

There’s a lot of good reasons to hate Twilight, but one of the reasons that is not valid is ruining vampire stories with a love triangle. Dracula by Bram Stoker had three men propose to Lucy in ONE day, including an American that knew her for a few hours. Also, Mina was never the reincarnated love of Dracula in the books, that’s something added in with different film versions, so male filmmakers literally added a love triangle where there wasn’t one.
