@@blazwinkler108 Eh, somewhat. The MK42 started as a dual-feed autoloader, meaning the mount has a loading mechanism on each side of the breech/cradle assembly, each being fed from its own ammo drum in the magazines. IIRC the reliability at max RPM was suspect, nevermind barrel life issues.

@@blazwinkler108 In my military time i was on a support ship for german Schnellboote (Klasse 143/143A) which had 76mm OTO Melara (Compact) mounted. Which had a theoretical fire rate of 85 rounds per minute (respectivly lesser because german navy regulations). A friend of mine was gunnery officer on that thing and told me you can do that only theoreticly since the barrel wouldn't last very long. But the feeding mechanism is able to do that. Instead you do precision shooting with these things. And they were very accurate ... at least in my world^^

@@stewenw4120 Same deal for the mk45 on board the Arleigh Burke class. Can technically do this ROF, but only as long as the drum is loaded, the barrel doesn't melt, and you don't get a misfire(chances of which increase with use).

Forrest Sherman was the last all gun destroyer of the US Navy. Twelve hundred PSI boilers pushed the ship. It's the Gearing all growed up and is undoubtedly the best looking DD ever built.

It's a 1950s US destroyer, last strictly gun destroyer built for the Navy. Some were later converted to add missiles. I am surprised they didn't go with the second in the class, the John Paul Jones. It was fun to watch you play that ship.

I have the sherman as well. However, I dont use Concealment expert for the simple fact that the concealment is terrible and I want fearless brawler to kick in sooner. I go full gun build with it. I use Survivability expert, Fearless Brawler and AFT for the extra gun range so you can reach targets. Im basically using the Marceaux build on the sherman. and my last point goes into incoming fire alert. When your fearless brawler kicks in, its disgusting. Sadly I dont have Halsey yet.

@@asterion3291 It's easy to use the Marleau. I have it and run successfully in ranked with it not using CE. But the whole concept of not using CE is to proc the Fearless brawler. It's a gun boat so use it as such. Regardless, anyone in the cap whose dumb enough to contest it when a Sherman appears will find out that you will die quickly with the SAp

@@asterion3291 Hide in smoke and farm...Youre forgetting that at tier X, you have radar cruisers in play. Its very counter productive hiding in smoke if you have multiple radar cruisers in play. Maybe its Just me but last season I had an 80% win rate In my marceaux in bronze and into the silver league before I stopped playing due to the toxicity of the players. mind you sherman wasnt out but Ragnar and Marceau was. with the sherman being out now, You can play the gunfighter role for sure with the sherman. after all, its torp is single launched and has fixed angles. I would rather gun boat my way in starting with HE and as soon as a fire is in play, you swap to SAP. I cant reliably rely on Flambass's video or any content creator's video because they dont play like me. Like I dont play like you. I have a nitch when it comes to playing gun boats that I can survive longer than the enemy and force that enemy to run. My best gunboat atm is the Marceau followed by the Kleber, Smalland and Daring in that order. Most people that rely on staying in smoke are the ones that tend to die quickly. I learned that the hard way. Again, for the sherman IMHO having CE is counter productive since you already have terrible concealment and all DD's maybe minus 1 can outspot you. You might as well run AFT, FB and adrenaline rush. Youll get your guns down to .7 seconds reload and if you have halsey and trigger is confederate....it will be down to .2 second reload which makes you a haragumo with SAP...

@@somebody700 Hell, I dont even use CE in ranked on my Marceaux. Your concealment is 6.8KM surface detect. With CE it brings it down to 6.1K. to me using CE is useless both Ranked and Randoms for some gunboat DD's. Smaland, Ragnar, Marceau all 3 dont need CE. Smaland and Ragnar due to the 7.5K radar and Marceau due to its fast rate of fire and high HE alpha. You want to test your might on a marceau, you best to believe you will lose that gun fight. Ranked has too many radar cruisers in play which alot of players tend to bring to ranked to counter DD's. Randoms is the same way plus you have DD's with 5.8K or less surface detect to cap contest. My sole purpose as a Marceau operator is to cause chaos and confusion while playing frogger with main gun rounds so that I can just the incoming rounds and at the same time. cause enough damage to deter ships from pushing. I think as a tactician and as someone who retired from the military, I use my skillset to analyze the battlefield and then employ.

@@asterion3291 Its not about wins on the ships. You can be a super unicum and fail miserably in both randoms and ranked. Its all about how you employ the ship and use its best capabilities to your advantage. I am really sorry for you and others that think stats make a player. You and the so called elite think that what you say about the ship is gospel and its not. Everyone has their own playstyle. Mine is not yours and yours is not mine. Ive been very successful employing my tactics and will continue as such. As far as killing marceaus quickly, that is due in part of player error and mistakes. Im am 100% sure that if a marceau was close to you, hes going to AP you to death due to the rate of fire. a Sejon or any pan asian cruiser does not a faster rate of fire than the marceau. But you do you man. no one is stopping you.

Came back to this after getting sherman a couple days ago. So far the highlight was eating a kita torp while fighting that kita towards the end of a game where I had gone unhit to that point. By shear chance hallsey activated from a fire right as that torp hit and dropped me to nearly deleted and activated adrenaline rush. Poor kita didn't even have a chance at that point.

@@patrickmccrann991 The issue you cited has to do with the ship that acted as the platform not the gun system itself. USS Hull was never designed to carry that gun but future destroyers would have had reinforced bows. The reason the gun project got terminated was because Carter Administration.

BTW Flambino...the Sherman is not a Fletcher Class destroyer. They were their own class destroyers laid down in 1953, launched early 1955 and commissioned late 1955...Unfortunately she was sold and scrapped in 2014.

Plus worst speed out of all t10 DDs and abysmal torp angles. At least now its a decent gunboat with good dpm and unlike the Gearing the shell ballistics are not bad

In clan battles a few nights back we were running two preussens in our comp. We faced a team consisting of gearing and yammy backed up by mino, Austin, colbert and sherman and something else. Anyway those super spam ships and both dds took one flank, smoked up and melted us with a rain of shear death, think i got a single salvo off in the time it took them to melt preussen bow in. It was insane, probably wouldn't have worked if we had the sense to assume they would all go together but hot damn all those ultra fast loading ships with a good focus fire was a sight to behold and a solid example of how broken a set up can be.

Yes Marceau is better. 1v1 it will win over the sherman. But because of the smoke screen and seeing the reload at the end of this video, it is more fun to play the F. Sherman 😂. I have both, saving up for the American captain now. Currently the Marceau is more fun because of jts speed. Can't wait to get the American captain 😂

Go for Harugumo line then and stick a Yamamoto in it. a) It is the cheapest line to regrind with fxp (for RB´s sake) b) Yamamoto, as Halsey, is pretty easy to get for free and has full load of ships to switch to for free either (Shiki/Musashi, ...; Hayate, Kamikaze, ...; Yoshino, Azuma, ...; Kaga ... full scale of ships to train him in). Jingles once posted a vid of someone playing this ship at T3-4 iirc, ton of fun with superheal after Kraken

Honestly, everyone is complaining about CVs and Subs, but those Super HE spam DDs are more of a pain in the ass than those will ever be. And i mostly play BB so its not like im a CV main talking shit. Out of 100 BB games i get 5 with an annoying CV. but 20+ with an invisible HE spamming little fuck killing me.
