I feel like it is really consistent not really in the guns, but the fact that it works at almost all ranges. Long range? Sure 2.05 Sigma Close range? You got the usual Secondaries and Torps AA? It’s a meme but your AA is good enough to discourage strikes. Yeah so fun angles aside it’s really solid.

Forget about the Secondaries. There are plenty of Sec german ships out there. This ship excels with its main guns. Tank build and abuse those shells. HE for every Situation, AP for the nice Broadside. Cruisers fear you especially. hehe. Lovely Ship!

Now imagine a ship that's as maneuverable, as fast, as quick on the reload, but with 15 inch guns, at tier seven. You need to look past the six barrels and bad dispersion of the Gneisenau, and realize she's a battlecruiser from before there was a German battlecruiser line. Play her to her strengths, and she's a FUN ship. I recommend Brisk and a speed flag. Seriously. Give it a try.

She seemed to play a lot like my Yukon, which I treat as a heavy cruiser with garbage reload for main guns. Fairly quick, fairy manoeuvrable and tanky.

It is the same gun angles as Pommern, as well as Preussen and GK I believe. I just know that this ship is essentially a T10 Pommern. Especially with Lütjens. It has better dispersion than the Pommern in my opinion, but then again, after a while, the Pommern's dispersion does get good, it handles slightly better than the Pommern, more guns but lower caliber, and quicker reload. Pommern has 380mm. If you can't tell by now, I really love the Pommern.

Yep. Mecklenburg gets the battle cruiser dispersion like Alaska, Georgia, Thunderer etc. Mecklenburg has slightly worse angles than GK, but not by much.

Taking ifhe boosts pen to 32mm & 47 mm respectively, but it will halve fire chance. I use it on my pommern & it has served me well in ranked.

I once saw a streamer, being in a match with the worst teammates all dieing one after another. He carried their a§§es up to the 16th min when his team had slight higher points and only he as a battleship and one teammate as a dd were last. Luckily the enemy team had no carrier anymore, but unfortunately he was blindfired set on fire very close before getting behind cover (an island) again. Out of heals he damaconed his fire at 5000 hp and left his cover to put distance between him and the enemy team. His dd mate was in close proximity but not smoking or helping him. Now with 5 enemies alive he got detected by a dd setting him on double fire when he had no damacon at the moment, so he was sentenced to death. Now the fun part comes: His DD dd teammate could win the match without him but as a solo warrior staying undetected…unless… When the streamer realised, he switched to HE, turned his guns slowly but epicly and BLAPPED his teammate out of existence! XDD (friendly fire was a thing at the time) Whould you have done the same? :P

@@Legendendear He woud have died and let his “noob“ teammate get a solowarrior for the streamer‘s carry. He said that one should value the teamplay more than the RNG of the individual players and their luck being on the right place the right time to capture a zone for the higher point income to score the win. In a good/normal/fair version of the game, teamplay would be critical for winning, which increases, if one has good teamplay and tactic contributions, its “teamplay“ score (like an elo score or so) being a thing in matchmaking. We already have such a thing in a kind which is the compliment tab, but how much of a difference does it really make complimenting someone?…

@@Legendendear Yes he did already in advance when taking cover behind the island but the dd mate sailed away from him and wasn‘t there for him when he left the cover. Of course both sailed away from the enemies/ same direction, but try catching up to a fleeing dd. The mate didn‘t use chat though didn‘t react to his proposal

Dude why stay with HE if your wanting damage. The one time you used it the damage was pretty good then you stopped. Not a good rest for damage capability if you just use HE the whole game.
