For my local Art supply place. It’s nothing special , don’t get tricked by its colour. It’s just a different colour.

Hello, it is beautiful from the north of Pakistan. Please help from where can I get that inner of shoulder mount ( white material)

You need to search for Taxidermy suppliers on google… whichever country is closer to you is the one you should buy from. Good luck.

That’s an incredible mount, I was wondering though, when fitting the horns or antlers to the manikin do you even touch the manikin or is it all tinkering with the skull angle?
@ArtofTaxidermy4 жыл бұрын
not sure what you mean.

@@ArtofTaxidermy so to make sure the horns or antlers fit on the manikin right do you adjust what’s left of the skull or do you adjust the manikin?

This is out of Matuska supply. If you can’t find one in NA , try European suppliers.

Hey Ben! A question that many people that watch your HORNED Game mount videos may Ask.... Do you just mount the Horns without any real prep in preservation like a Whitetail Deer??? Both You and I know there’s Extensive Procedures to get the Horns OFF The Skull so all the meat and flesh, etc can be scraped off a d the Horns preserved... How do you prep your horns off of Game like this Huge Ram? Some people boil the skulls, Some people just throw in a Bag for a few weeks and the horns ROT Off the cores (stanky method) Was just curious! I have done BOTH! Lol AGAIN, AWESOME VIDEO!!!

Horned animals like sheep and goat , or any animal that it’s horn will pop out of its core, will be popped and the core will be cooked and re attached to the horns with bondo. There is a ton of membrane and blood under the horns that will lead to problems if we don’t clean. But some horns that don’t pop off like wildebeast will be dealt with like deer. However they do boil them in Africa ( a bit too much) and still clean out the burr area. But horn won’t come off.

@@ArtofTaxidermy Cool! When I lived in Montana, I mounted a Few SPEED GOATS “Pronghorn” and I used a Big pot of water on an open fire to boil water and submerge the horns a bit until I could twist em off and pop off cores I then boraxed and Scraped off membrane RE attached with BONDO One thing that SCOTT BREWER Taught me was BEFORE YOU REMOVE Horns, Take a 1/16 drill bit and drill under the bottom of horns on both sides so after all said and done you can put a T pin in hole and the Horns WONT Slide down farther than needed on core

Yup that’s exactly how it’s done 👍👍👍

@ArtofTaxidermy3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes absolutely... you have to remove the horns, boil the sheath, treat them and glue them horns back on.
