I went to Spain in 1983 for a class trip and this song was played in every disco we went into over there. Brings back great memories every time I hear this version ( not the ATF one ). But no, Falco wasn't the lead singer of After The Fire. I think that guy's name is Andy Piercy and I'm pretty sure he wrote the English lyrics to the song. I prefer the Austrian version since it has a lot more personality and Falco was a one of a kind artist.
