Not a technique....lol...the way the valley is shaped, most times weird gusts come up on short final...when you are steep and high VVI...almost felt like a go around...if needed i wanted to have some rpm to start with.

Mark Petry Some 10s had thrust reversers and you could almost land them on a football field.
