Hello, this is D3m1aN and welcome to the world of Falcon BMS. I would like to add that you can also fly the F-15 in a good level of detail when it comes to model and avionics. Other jets are flyable too just with less development of weapon systems, avionics, flight models etc... BMS can be approached from different directions based on your level of expertise, like someone said below in the comments, yes you can start with the jet on and ready to T.O. from the runway. But, the true magic of BMS is that it gives you all the means and ways to properly simulate operating and flying the F-16 and F-15 in realistic dynamic campaign environments that are challenging and extremely fun to play with friends. Cheers !

I need a motion rig now.....Currently I have more hours in DCS as i never knew Falcon BMS existed up until last week!

The Falcon in the 80s you mention - I remember it. I also remember the manual that came along with it. Amazing for its time, the level of depth was incredible

I love both Sims for different reasons. Each amazing.

I had an ST much later but used to have an Atari 65XE with flight simulator 2 and bug hunt!

What you are on about start up procedures, they are there if you choose to do them and most do...?? BMS start up is more accurate and has actual DTC too.
@SA80TAGE5 ай бұрын
I would argue once you learn the procedures and do it a few times, most would likely skip it (we're still gamers after all). I have limited time in VR (due to eyestrain, quest 2 sucks) so I often skip the startups or use autostarts in DCS. The spitfire I might start manually first time of the session cuz it doesn't take long, but after that I'd rather respawn hot to save time..... I imagine most player of Falcon BMS do the same in multiplayer matches.

@@SA80TAGE Yeah but this brainlet is talking there isnt a cold start in BMS
@TheVRSector5 ай бұрын
If they are there then it's not clear (IMO). I just go into the game and select campaign then take off as I don't really understand the whole loadout thing which takes me into the game at a Taxi or ramp point depending on what is selected. In DCS it's much more clearer if it's a cold start etc. Admittedly I use Autostart anyway but was giving initial impressions.

@@TheVRSectorstart ramp and this is cold start. Taxi is aircraft already running. BMs f16 is more detailed than DCS one , but the most important part is that you fly a f16 in a real war where AI are smart

Which programs and/or plugins are you using for VR mirror stabilization? I've wanted to stream DCS and BMS for a long time but it would look terrible.
@TheVRSector5 ай бұрын
I don't actually use any stabilization software at all. I simply use virtual desktop to stream to my Pico 4, then I record actually in the pico 4 not the desktop. The camera is recording to the PC through OBS. Once I've finished recording I just transfer the recorded file from the Pico to PC, put in MAGIX movie making software and tie up the audio during editing then post. I'll see if I get time to do a video on it.

Interesting. When you look outside the HUD, your JHMCS display is moving around on the screen while the overall image is stable. WMR/OpenXR and SteamVR cannot do that, so it's probably either Virtual Desktop or Magix.

@B-RY275 ай бұрын
Maybe I keep mishearing you, but you do 100% have to go through a start of procedure in Falcon BMS. Matter of fact, they are a little more complex start up then DCS. Falcon actually simulates engine malfunctions during startups. And there damage simulation while flying is good also. The other day I didnt even realize I could damage my auto pilot if I have it engaged and pull high gs without disengaging.
@Trekari5 ай бұрын
No, you do not. In BMS, you can start Ramp (cold jet, startup required), Taxi, or Runway. The latter two already have the jet started and ready to move.

@@TheVRSector no argument with you or anything, I'm jus informing. Its optional and I agree when I started BMS it wasnt clear about cold starts or getting into the game or set up. You have to read the manual to get a lot which I dont mind. I mainly play DCS but will jump on BMS at times.
