Let's take a tour of this new estate, in the heart of Harare's western region. The modern architecture and compact and manageable land sizes make it a very desirable place to live.
Enjoy the video!!!

Next time every stand owner should be required by law to plant 2 or 3 trees of their choice. And in 10-15 years we would have lush green surburbs allover Zimbabwe , never seen in the western countries and the rest of the world! The government should even establish an urban 'forestry commission' with experts and gardeners, for those who need help.

@Mr Zim, I'm loving the fact that people are building good quality buildings. My only misgiving is on the quality of the roads and the roads masterplan. I don't think the minimum specs of an urban road are being adhered to. From this video, it's evident the roads are of a such quality, that they are breaking down before this area is fully occupied. From the description of the location you gave, I reckon the reckon the main access road to this area is Kirkman road or the place could be accessed from Bluffhill/Westgate areas. When Kirkman was designed as a two-lane road, it saved Dzivarasekwa (Gillingham) and the farming plot areas (KwaMapiki, Kekemani) and also saved the out-of-town traffic as the old Bulawayo Road. Dzivarasekwa itself was less than half the size it today. Other suburbs that this road is saving were non existant. There was not DZ extension, no Madokero, no Westgate area D, no Matidoda, no Tynwald north and South, no ZNA presidential guard camp, no Westlea. Now that this area has grown this much, surely Kirkman Drive must now be expanded to a 4-lane road minimum, maybe up to 6 or 8 lane road. But the road servitudes where the expansion of these road is supposed to happen, you see that new structures are being put up, Service stations, ugly shops, new houses etc, it's sad. The fact that this expansion is not happening shows that all these new settlements are unplanned. i don't think back in 2000 or even 2010, anyone knew thre would be Falcon Park. These suburbs are emerging in a spontaneous manner, almost a knee jerk fashion. For me that's been the major problem with traffic management is Harare and its dormitory towns like Ruwa, Norton, Chitungwiza, Nyabira. Noone knows what Harare will be like on the next 10 years. There is no plan for water supply, for sewer reticulation, for traffic management, for wetlands preservation, for social amenities (schools, clinics, recreational facilities, shops etc). The private developers are doing whatever they want with their land, with little or no supervision from the City fathers.

Unfortunately there are no city fathers in local authority. They have failed and they will never be able to do anything about it.

@@MrZim263 I guess their thinking is, if you can purchase in this area, you "should" have a vehicle....or two...or three! 🤔 What about "joggers" or this an area where health conscious persons can drive to the gym😄. Jogging is for "westerners"!?(I guess 🤔🤷‍♀️) Nice video!

Almost all cities and infrastructure projects are built on arable land, unless of course you want to build something in the middle of the the Kalahari or Sahara desert! Both of which we do not have.
