It wasn't that she didn't believe him, she was angry and trying not to show it, notice her face again when she looks away at John saying he's sorry to them losing Lemar, her emotions are basically "saying sorry isn't going to bring my brother back", the sister is the counter to Lemar's mother saying that Lemar knew the risks and accepts what would have happened to him, the sister is the person who is angry and resentful that she would rather her brother be alive than be okay with death. It's a very real portrayal of military families' responses to being informed of the death of a loved one.

Yep. That paint was seen as a political statement at the time for several reasons. Also, that style of historical painting was usually reserved for certain “high-level” events such a the death of Julius Caesar. The fact that the artist depicted working class individuals was also a statement. The aristocracy present during the shipwreck escaped with the only life boat and left the working class survivors to fend for themselves. It definitely parallels the new black Captain America and the Flag Smashers.

I believe Sam helped Bucky by thanking him for his help as back before Steve got the serum that’s what Bucky’s main purpose in life was. To help Steve. He was PUT THERE BY THE US GOVERNMENT and did everything he could to be the man he was asked to be- but Falcon and Bucky and so many others gave him grief and hell despite him trying so hard to do what was expected of him. When Sam runs during his training, we can see that he isn’t running in the center of the screen. And as the scene starts to zoom out, we notice that he is running on the right side of the track leaving an “empty” space “on his left.” And that symbolizes captain’s America legacy running ON HIS LEFT, which is a throwback to the first time we are introduced to Sam.

When he says to Walker “yeah we do” and then just lunges straight at him and then when he just drops Sam the shield like ‘mission complete’! He is such a well written character and Wyatt Russell does an amazing job playing him! I already knew Mackie, Sebastian and Daniel Brühl were great but Wyatt is definitely the discovery of this show for me. I hope we see him again in the MCU and this also leads to other great projects for him.

@@kylekoke6022 - That’s my guess: the Flag-Smashers & Batroc think they’ll be going up against Falcon-Sam w US Army/Stark-lite tech, and instead it’s full-on Cap-Sam with the best Shuri/Wakanda tech. This will be how they manage to defeat the FS & Batroc in the end (my first thought after seeing Sam open that box and realizing it was the perfect size for a supersuit).

Here are my favorite moments in this episode: - the talk between Isaiah and Sam, because it's so touching and well written, the end of that talk left me speechless, - the talk between Bucky and Sam, because it's so positive and revitalizing, it looks to the future, - the awesome fight of Bucky and Sam against Walker, so cool, and at the end of that right, we have that powerful moment of Bucky returning the shield to Sam, and Sam broken with the sight of a shield now so corrupted and covered in blood. I also enjoyed to be able to see at least a tired Zemo in front of that monument just waiting and thinking. That matches what we know about the character. And the panel to announce Walker that he loses his status as Captain America. This episode is really full of wonderful moments. What a great episode.

@@Nickzstuff I may have misunderstood your comment. I think one of the reasons they haven't been so prominent is possibly to give all the other characters time to develop. The biggest villain so far hasn't been flag smashers but rather Walker. Flag Smashers are more a plot device than actually fully flashed characters, they are there to put Walker in conflict with Sam and Bucky. That being their purpose, they're good enough. Sure at first they had the serum, but that was just to keep things interesting until all the elements in the story are in the place.

Bucky could be wearing "his" dog tags, just not the exact same ones from WW2. You can get custom dog tags made at a lot of military museums, probably some Army-Navy stores, and I'm sure places on the internet now. He could have easily had new copies made.

I felt for Walker in that court hearing I really did because he’s done his job set by the rules and mandates of the government, and when he doesn’t oblige by these mandates then punish him (of course) but that feeling to be completely abandoned by that same government you fought under can be seen on Russell’s face and he is amazing in this!

I think there's a correlation between Bucky sparing Zemos life in this episode and Tchalla sparing Zemos life in civil war. The Dora Milaje were right there too to give him proper justice instead of executing him on the spot
