Falconry: Falcons used to save huge amounts of blueberries.

Falcons are used in multiple places to chase away other birds. Falconry is used extensively on berry and cherry farms with produce easily plucked by flocks of foraging birds. They are also used to chase birds away from landfills and can even be used for duck hunting. Today we visit Columbia fruit in Woodland Washington where it is estimated the use of falcons saves 100,000 pounds of blueberries and blackberries a year. Their falconer is properly licensed and uses several different breeds. Peregrine, aplamado, and gyrfalcon are common crop protectors.
