Dave, we don't need you dressing up ;-) Damn, that's a pretty, pretty Falcon! Dave, it's so, so obvious how much you love your raptors! So, these birds DO go flying thermals for FUN! One often wonders if the birds that we see flying about, with no apparent goals...maybe they're having FUN!

Funny thing is I often say to my Audiance when flying birds ‘ they’re nit flying for fun’ but then when you see a falcon on a thermal that’s deffo not hunting but comes down when it feels like it , but I’d also deffo hungry ; why is it staying up ?!…

Loved the vide as usual Dave. I have neve done true falcony but i do and have hunted Harris's and my old Redtail for years. I wouldlove to try a falcon and have the chance of a male Per next year. I have an an abundance of bog and Snipe to hunt and on over here in Ireland. Would you recommend the male Per as my starter falcon for hunting Snipe and other stuff he might take.

Male Peres are being given away by breeders so never a better moment to try one for sure , go for it ! They’ll also fly partridge but need to hit them hard or they bounce back up and fly off … keep us posted but for sure try one and see

Can falcon nesting habitats be created in urban areas?
@falconry.davesharpenatureboy Жыл бұрын
Peregrines nest in an awful lot of the worlds cities by using tall buildings , so I guess yes !

Hi nature boy 100% spot on with the info on the lanner. I fly mine every day first light.. Great bird . Ideal first longwing . Always use gps telemetry. I alway use a weighted lure in relation to bird quarry weight. They are better than some of the mickey mouse lures and the bird will bring it to ground better than trying to carry. When coming in at full speed. However great description of the lanner. Couldn't have put it into words better.
