Prior to this season I said that neither Penix nor Rodgers would complete the season. And I was mostly panned for it. The reason being that they are both at the end of the careers (or past the end for Rodgers) and that no other player in history at their advanced age had ever recovered from a torn achillies to play anywhere near their prior levels. In the case of Rodgers, it was already way below his younger years abilities BEFORE he suffered the achillies. The difference for the Jets being, that the half demented Jets owner made Rodgers head coach and GM all in one, so he's not about to bench himself.
