The elephant in the room is Kirk’s contract. Imagine if they saved that 100M, drafted Penix, and used that 100M to put players around him & specifically on defense. And perfect bridge quarterback? Similarly, if you can't see context. You're blind or bias. The Eagles are a championship contender with weapons on both sides of the ball. Their defense is awesome, they have imo the best RB in the league, they have a great o-line and probably the best WR duo out there. Jalen sometimes plays questionably given the sheer amount of talent on the team. When your team is loaded and you're not playing out of your mind, you are gonna get questioned as the weak link. That's how it goes. The expectations for the Falcons are not high at all. They have an ok team, and Cousins is an ok QB. Everything is going as expected. Idk of anyone outside of Atlanta that thought, "Oh yeah, this Falcons team has something going here." Cousins playing badly doesn't hold the team back, they are just an ok team regardless.

I hate the "qb play is so bad" narrative. I did a list of all 32 teams. I came up with 8 available jobs total. And two of those are Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young. With the incoming rookie class, and a possible Sam Darnold on the market, the chances of Kirk being a week one guy is slim. I do think he starts another game again (because of injuries to starters) but i have a hard time seeing him be the guy for some team next September.

From a Falcons fan...I'll be the first to say I was not a fan of Kirk and definitely wasn't a fan of them paying him what they did coming off an achilles injury at 36. But I was like I don't like the contract but he's a bridge guy with Penix on the sideline waiting to start. He struggled the first game. Then he started getting on the same page with the receivers...he looked great the first half of the season especially with the comeback wins against eagles, saints, and Tampa. However I would still see him stay in the pocket and take the sack. He's not moving at all...I'm like is he injured? Pocket awareness has been off all season. I had a friend that said before the losing streak that Kirk is hurt...he's looks like he's playing limited. But I think honestly he's still don't trust his achilles or he's lost his damn confidence or both can be true. He literally fell off a cliff. What's crazy is the little bit about Penix and Cousins living on the same street is true...my mom delivers to them both all the time lol. I think Kirk will be the ultimate professional and help Penix in these last three games.
