Falcons Owner Arthur Blank is non committal on head coach's future

Falcons Head Coach Arthur Smith has become a very hot topic in Atlanta.
Following Sunday's loss in Charlotte, to the woeful Panthers, the league’s worst team, questions concerning the Falcons abound.

Mr. Blank, with all do respect we as fans don't really care how nice the head coach is, or what a great family he comes from. The only thing we care about is how this team performs and carries itself on/off the field. I can understand why these things may be relevant to you, and why you might take them into consideration but ultimately if you want what's best for this team the only thing that should matter is production, and this man has not produced. If one were to look at his body of work, analyze it, and make a logical prediction, I believe one could expect much of the same going forward. What do I know though, I'm just a fan... A very demoralized one.

Arthur Blank says that the playoffs was not a requirement for this year for this coaching staff. With the softest schedule in years, 3 top 10 draft picks and a stout defense the playoffs were not a requirement. I hate to admit it but the Falcons will be perennial losers as long as this mentality exists.

Authur Blank wasn't being truthful about the playoffs comment. You can tell in the interview with Jeff Hullinger that his comments about coach Smith were very measured. That's not a good sign and a vote of confidence.

Without question Mr. Blank is a great owner. His impact in Atlanta has been overwhelming positive. He has been unlucky when it comes to selecting the right HC. Not optimistic about a Super Bowl triumph any time soon but he sure has been very very close and deserves one as much as any NFL owner. The talent on offense, for the most part, is there. I'm very proud of what the defense has been able to do. That being said, considering the soft schedule this season, Arthur Smith has failed the Falcons' organization miserably. Consider the losses the team has had, paired with the non-dominant wins - and it is easy to see where a large part of the problem lies. Desmond Ridder has not improved. Maybe this is Ridder's fault. Maybe it's because his coaches are not guiding him correctly - or the scheme is just not viable. I have been a die-hard Falcons fan for 50+ years. My patience has worn thin.

As happy as I was to see Quinn go, he legitimately had built a unit. It was cohesive. He had many compeitive seasons. That said, he unfortunately had the stamp of 28-3 on his head forever. Even still, I knew when Smith came in that he wasn’t the answer. I remember watching a preseason workout and he was screaming at the offense for celebrating a touchdown, saying “congratulations you scored, no one cares” or something like that. I understood the point but it came off as being something that I wouldn’t do as the new guy In town trying to create that stable, loyal unit. Football is all about camaraderie and respect. He came off as disrespectful and argumentative from the start. No way to win over a team you want to work and go to war for you.

We sat through Fulton County and ST through ever year at the Dome. New stadium pricing was out of cost, my wife and I had the best seats in the house. We could make i we gave them to Camp sunshine or other disabled fans and mostly children. We drove 484 miles to the Dome and 484 returning. I work three jibs to make it happen. I agree Coach should stay you cant let the Fans run this team, win they will be begging tickets. we simply could not continue to pay what our sales rep reported to us. Time to Rise UP!! Give a coach a year and Give Ridder a bit more time.. In fact my wife of soon Fifty Years surprised me after the Dome was taken down, with our two seats in the Dome Sec 120, Row 1 seats 3 and 4. He is not a head coach and especially no Offensive guru as some made him out to be. Derrick Henry made him look good in Tennessee. He has no Henry here and the closest thing to that is Patterson or Algier. And doesn't know when and how to use them or stop an overly aggressive Defense. Under one minute to go and you still are throwing the ball down the middle of the field instead of sideline routes. On the five yard line you are calling a deep drop pass. Come Authur Blank. Don't kid yourselves. What has Authur Smith done to improve the team to think otherwise any different going forward with Authur Smith to prove a winning culture like the Atlanta Braves? To be honest there isn't any improvements in the Atlanta Falcons since the Superbowl. They continue to be mid or below average at best in the last three years of Authur Smith. There is no true QB, no offensive line of protection, a underperforming defense line and secondary over the past three years, and only getting worse. At this point, might as well call Matt Ryan back for 2024, or get Woodside in to see if there's any improvements. Might as well gut out from top to bottom and start with the OL and DL. I think as for Offensive weapons we have, but are not properly used at all. Authur Smith has to go, along with others.

Coach Smith Family has nothing to do with his competency and likely why he’s not already been fired after 3 straight abysmal seasons with and without money. Not to mention the Bijan thing with a 1000 yard rookie already in the house 😢. Fire him and Move on or the Benz will be emptier than it already is and you will need to take out more seats than already planned to disguise the lack of decreasing fan support
