Falke, Cody, G - Street Fighter V Character Overviews

Falke is such an amazing character. A testament to easy controls, but difficult to master. G is also an outstanding character. He makes Jamie seem a bit more tame since his levels are dynamic. Cody has a great reworking to fit his origins, and still manages to have depth. Great trio! Stay Legendary 💜

G is the best Street Fighter newcomer in the past decade, even counting SF6. He's a true boss among all bosses, an endlessly swagged out president, with his tall top hat with decorations combined with some of the coolest animations in Street Fighter, he leaves an impression you don't forget. The Lava aesthetic mixed with the gold looks super clean, not to mention the gold on his body is a map of earth which just adds to this Q, G, and maybe JP, mystery. He's the President Of The World, and nobody should forget that Oh yeah also, when G was first announced Capcom made a whole Rap song in his trailer with one of Hip-Hops best, Del The Funky Homosapien, and then never released a full version. *WHY.*

G is a character I never expected to like when he was forst introduced. I mean, the guy looks kind of insane, visually didn't appeal to me at all. But wow, he is a fun character. Once you get him rolling he is a menace, but also, if you're careless, your momentum will lost in an instant. Very explosive and volatile character to play. Also helps that he has such long limbs, in a game where most normals were kind of stubby at the beginning. Q connections are just the cherry at the top. Hope character of this archetype will be in SF6.

Falke is called boring, but she’s one of the most fun characters in the game. Using her you just have to think of so many things at once and it’s kind of thrilling. I just wish I were better with her, maybe if I had someone to train with. I love her in V so I don’t know how I’d feel about her being changed a lot if they put her in VI. I’ll wait to see what they do to Ed.

G is such a fun and interesting character. You know what he is all about without knowing anything of who he is. Also, I love SF having unique fighter abilities in a similar vein of Smash, GG, and KI. Complete show stealer.

Ah yes, here he is. The character who convinced me to play the game, the President of the earth himself, G. You can't imagine HOW HARD i love him. His look, his animations, his voice, the words he say - i like everything. Even though he's kinda tricky to play and even after a year of playing him (and after a year since i started to play SFV) i'm still not that good - it doesn't matter, i'm just enjoying it. Hope to see him back in SF6 (which is a realistic expectation, since Capcom made him a final boss of SFV, and we still don't know much about him).

Falke's button charge attacks were a bit of game design brilliance that weren't appreciated at the time. Holding a punch meant you could lose a good anti-air or combo starter, but you'd lose the universal mechanics tied to that button as well, such as throw or V Trigger. Your opponent could try to call you out on it, but you could also move the charge to a different punch without dropping it. It was an interesting experiment. I hope Capcom hasn't closed the door on novel inputs like this.

I remember picking SFV at the start of S3. The reason I did that cause I wanted to play the game and the characters were getting too good to not try, hence I waited for Falke, G and Cody and these are some of my favourites alongside Nash, Bison and Urien. G is amazing to play particularly in the Creativity area with his combo flexibility.

G was such a show-stealer when he was released. When many of us saw him in the preview images we thought looked meh but my gosh when he released it seemed everyone just did a 180 and loved the guy. I'd even argue that he stole a lot of Sagat's Thunder.
