hello from France, thank you for your explanations, can you tell me what your vegetable patch is filled with: soil, vermiculite, peat, coconut, compost ..... good luck

Hi Marc, thanks for watching. I used a combination of roughly 1/3 coconut coir (or peat moss), 1/3 perlite (or vermiculite), and 1/3 organic matter (compost). If I was planting something in the ground like a tree, I would have mixed that with native soil at a 1:1 ration (or 50%/50%). If you have any other questions about square foot gardening let me know, I'll be having more videos coming out regarding it this spring. Take care.

I love your channel! I’ve always wanted to learn how to start my own garden. It really interesting learning about the different zones. What zone are you in? Also, that winter squash makes a good soup! Awesome vid 😃

Thanks a bunch. We're in 9b. Much of Cali has ideal growing conditions, unfortunately much of it is covered by blacktop. Nice tip on the winter squash, I'll have to try that.

thanks for watching! thankfully, you can find heads of garlic at your nearby grocery store. split a couple open and plant the gloves individually in the ground, four inches apart from one another.
