I didn't get to record any of the kids matches. I'll keep an eye out for them the next time I'm in St. George. I'm going to make this a yearly event. What a great facility.....32 courts with a championship court coming soon. Thanks for watching

The lady in all black - I made her an appt at lens crafters for tomorrow at 11AM. Either she was cheating on all those out calls that were in or she needs glasses. That should have an asterisk she stole that last game with two horrible calls and the ref was right on them. I made her an appt as well.

@hzlhzl I may not win, but I doubt I'd be destroyed. I'm rated 4.0, but I play 4.5 in women's doubles, and I don't do bad... I'm not seeing anything here I couldn't handle. Perhaps I should try 5.0 women's doubles next tournament just to see how I fair. Mixed is another story...unless I have a super aggressive, dominant male partner, I'm staying 4.0. Haha

@@Vanessa-pe2xs to medal at a legit 5.0 tourney in Utah (fall brawl is probably the 3rd biggest of the year in Utah), you have to be very very good. Utah's talent level is crazy good. Look no further than how many of the pros are from Utah. 4 of the top 20 women and 5 out of the top 50 men are from Utah.
@patrikgarde Жыл бұрын
yeah.. absolutely not 5.0 on the east coast! The amount of mistakes and nets these girls are making would take them out of that category real fast. That doesn't mean they're bad. I'd give them a max of 4.5 on our courts... and yes... I do know what I'm talking about!
@mikeryanpickleball1962 Жыл бұрын
Just because they're playing in a 5.0 bracket doesn't automatically make them a 5.0. I applaud these women for playing in the highest rated bracket for their age. Thanks for your comment!

I always find it amusing when people say crap like this. Here are the facts. The team that won has an average 5.25 DUPR rating and the team that lost is at 5.10. Utah (where this tournament was played) has the highest rated per capita average DUPR and it isn't even close. Just look at the amount of pros from Utah. There are 4 women ranked in the top 20 and 5 men in the top 50. But I'm sure your area 5.0s would totally beat the Utah 5.0s. lol

Fun, nail biting match to watch. Way too many unforced errors and pop ups leading to a defensive nightmare. The lefty wearing all black has a very solid all around game as well as the shorter girl (opponent). Painstakingly way too many errors and not one offensive lob. Not a true 5.0 Gold Medal match but nonetheless a nice victory along with a tight match that could have gone either way. Congrats to both teams for making the finals👏
